Really a shame. Savannahs are obviously bigger (taller) than your average domestic, but they're not dangerous. They're usually very sweet and social...

Ouch! Apparently the cat came from the suburbs and drifted down into Detroit.

Some friends of mine have one those cats. It is very friendly, but it can move very fast and jump very high(at least 6 feet) and it gets into things. If it were get loose, they would probably never be able to get it back. They walk it on a leash like a dog. It cost them $400 as a kitten. I myself would prefer an old fashion short haired alley cat, but each his own.
