9th@Mountaineer: 8F(1 mile) Clm5000N2Y Purse: $9,000 ~ 8/20/13
(Non-Winners of Two Races in 12 months)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two runners stretch out from inside posts, two drop from N1-6mo.,
and one steps up from EZ Win. No 'new faces' or big class droppers.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Ice Storm (12/1 ML)~ 5YO goes 3rd off layoff adding 2F,
and returns to site of last win. Pace/Stalking trip from good rail post.
2) Handsome Bruno (3/1 ML Fave)~ The other S2R runner,9YO
loves to win races. 22/80 Lifetime, but 'only' 3 for last 19. Beat2Win.
3) Saintly Tale (8/1)~ 6YO drops from N1-6mo.,picks up Pilares.
Note: was Vet Scratch 7/21, one 4F work since. May need this start.
4) Bear Is Confirmed (8/1)~ Loses Pilares, ORO solid Sub rider.
If things get Hot Early, will be closing late. Must-Use Tri/Super.
5) Nicky's Delight (6/1)~ 8YO has had strong 2013 campaign,
almost scored on stretch out in last. Rider upgrade, steady Beyers.
6) Belo Purse (12/1)~ 9YO gets 4th rider in 4 local starts.
Yet to show early pace or late kick to be Exacta threat here.
7) Vaneasto (5/1)~ 6YO filled Exacta last 3 starts with a
rider that's 7/231 on year. Note: 5 wins/14 Places~ Camera Shy?
8) Margos Walker (8/1)~ Strong J/T team finally got elusive
N1-12mo.win last vs. soft field. Early Pace, Beyers Say No Margo.
9) High Flying Jake (6/1)~ cutback of 110Y for 5YO making 3rd
local start. Terrible Post, but i'm Flying High with Jake @ML price.
10) Dakota Milkshake (8/1)~ S&F as Beaten Chalk in Mountain
debut, 5YO gets Top Pilot. Eligible N4L,Best 2013 Beyers on Poly.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
EARLY LOOK: ML Fave has back class on stretch out, but 9YO has
80 career starts,& Father Time never sleeps. Three outside runners
figure to "go" from Gate,& potential exists for a Pace Meltdown.
If that occurs, Nicky, Vaneasto,& Bear is Confirmed will benefit.
I'll bank on Speed/Stalkers to rule,& use #9 & #2 in DD/P6.
GOOD LUCK to ALL, & see you at Night School!

8th@Mountaineer: 6F Alw22200N2L ~purse $22,200 ~ 8/20/13
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two New Faces step up from claimers,& ML Fave a JBM. Weak Field.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) A Moment In Time (8/1ML)~ BestBackBeyers,BUT 9-mo.break
from 2010-2011; 11-mo.break 2011-2012; 13-mo.break 2012-tonite.
No Time for Me!
2) Hummelstown (6/1)~ 3YO invader joins barn having career year.
Can You Say,"LONE SPEED"? BUT: Beaten fave 2-of-3,quit late last out.
3) Silver Posse (10/1)~
4) Soldier Bill (9/2)~
5) Tommy's Peanut (6/1)~ 3-4-5 All out of Common 8/4 race,
& i feel that only Tommy's a serious threat to fill exacta/tri/super.
6) Carter's Pride (3/1)~ WV-Bred goes T2D w/pos. rider switch.
Underlay @ML odds, but 4YO's both recent Dirt Beyers Fit Well vs.these.
7) Rock'n'Roll Cat (5/2 ML Fave)~ 3YO steps up off facile win vs.
4/5 fave. Can stalk'n pounce, but needs to move forward for "W".
8) Coffee Man (15/1)~ Took 25 starts to Break maiden locally.
Filled Super in last, Tri/Super suck-up BCS here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
EARLY LOOK: Weak bunch for N2L Alw. condition. ML Fave OK, but
must improve to win. 2nd choice ML is WV-Bred in open company,
always tough task. #1 Races by Appointment. #2 looks Lone Speed,
but backers better hold breath final furlong. I'll single Hummer in P4,
but only if inside speed doing OK early in card.i'll include ML Fave in P6.
