As usual, in an effort to make everything simple, easy to use with little if any understand by the end user, vendors for Universal Plug-'n-Play have left your system and devices wide open to attack.

P.S. If you read the article and follow the links, you can D/L an tool to assess you LAN's exposure. I have installed and used the tool without any problems.
However, to use the tool you'll be asked to provide identification information. Supposedly to keep you in the loop but I did not receive any confirmation email -- at least in the last 60 minutes. And without any verification, you can put whatever you want in the various fields.
