Has anyone heard if anyone is planning on buying TSN?
I still get some tracks.

Gambler844,

Are you talking about the Thoroughbred Sports Network (aka BRIS) or The Racing Network?

There was an article with the Vernon Downs GM stating that TRN is going to be or was bought.. I was just made aware that US residents can legally get TRN Canada for a pretty decent price.. They carry Belmont T-breds, FInger Lakes, Belmont, Aqueduct and a few others..

Would any one happen to have a link to such an article?

Sorry, I do not.. Actually I think it was in The Sportseye (harness equivalent to the DRF)..

The article mentioning the possible purchase of TRN was in the Saturday, November 25th Sports Eye. The article was about prominent harness horse owner Eric Cherry of Florida who also owns StretchCall, the 900 results service. Cherry and prominent thoroughbred owner Sanford Goldfarb (R.Dutrow-TR) have put in a bid to buy Vernon Downs. This harness track in upstate NY also has an operating telephone system available to residents of any state that has also legalized phone wagering. They also have a rewards rebate system with a many types of rebates other than cash.

Thanks guys for the info. I think TRN had around 12,000 customers when they pulled the plug. You would think that someone could put a business plan together that would make money with 12,000 customers, especially if they just show the races and forget about having any announcers....wishful thinking!
