Now that I'm settled in and ready to roll down here I wanna kinda have a blog to let you guys know what I'm doing.......I realize nobody cares and rightfully so but it's more to get some pointers to what to do in the area....

Seems to me there are a ton of PA members from
This area or know of this area.......

I've recieved numerous pm messages giving me pointers and good places to go and check out for that I'm very thankful!!! Reminds me of OTM Al's blog where I've now seen some good places to eat next time im in Saratoga.....it's mind boggling how many smart and helpful members this site has....

So with the house vacant tonight I've Made up my mind to go to Charlestown to bet some horses and play cards......again the situation im in now I'm treating gambling like its recreational not like I've been doing since hurricane sandy where it buried me financially......in other words it's not a must win anymore being it looks like a got a stable job.....gonn order the CT timeformus tonight and see what happens.....starting when my housemates get down here I'll be able to post pix of racetrack trips and also print out my old programs...

Gonna go hit up the mall now and see what kind of deals they got going on maybe I can score some cheap Lacoste....

As for my first meal down here I recieved a pm from just Ralph who suggested Timbuktu.......looks like a great place figure I'll hit that up that roll to CT......

Again thanks for all the pointers you guys have given me the part 2 months or so......it's all very much appreciated!!!!!

Be careful in Ranson WV. They have their own police department and like nothing better to do then write speeding tickets. You can think you are in Charlestown but you could be in Ranson. Obey speed limits.

The register says 286.67 or sometimg like that.....I was like wtf is this bs....I though they were on sale........I look at the screen there was $18 in tax....I nearly vomited.......there is no tax in new jersey on clothes....

I was gonna splurge on these orange Nike sneakers for $180 but couldn't do it cus I wasn't paying taxes.......very mad hahahaha

I'm going to laurel tonight.....hope I can find a good spot there to watch simulcast

I think Maryland has tax free back to school shopping this week or next. Clothing is included but i think shoes can't be over 100.00. Something like that. Check it out. Virginias
's was last weekend.

Get used to Maryland taxes. One of the worse things about the place.

Wait until you see your paycheck........ But you're probably used to that already.

No state payroll tax states are where it's at ........

So day 2 of Maryland I take a trip out to laurel park.......I'm
Not going to bat for this place.....love pimlico but this place is ok I guess...

Sitting in the room on the clubhouse turn....

It's taken 2 days to realize people don't give a f*** about harness here...as I'm typing this a guy just put on Pocono so maybe there is hope for me....

As a side rant its 2013 and I'm betting on machines that I bet on when I was wagering when I was 16.......let's get with the times....

Will I be back......I guess but not thrilled about it

I grew up in central MD (Howard County) and left the area in May 1998 while in my mid 20's. I frequented Laurel and Pimlico +/- once a week, with Laurel being the main base due to ease of travel to/from. I made it back to Laurel for the first time since 1998 in late June 2013 (15 years) when I traveled to the area on business from NJ. You're exactly right, the same automated-teller machines that were there when I last visited in 1998 are still there. In fact, it's the same set-up and I'm pretty sure the same off-colored green tables and chairs in the TV area.

Nothing inside on the first floor has changed at all in 15 years. The outside portion is significantly different since they re-configured the turf/dirt courses and took away over 50% of the apron and winners circle.

Day 3 in Maryland was where I learned how great Baltimore is.....had the privilege of meeting cj's dad today who was kind enough to not only give me a tour of Baltimore but take me to some of the hottest bars I've ever seen....and they were hot at 3pm on a Sunday.....imagine it on a fri/sat night wow!!!!

I couldn't tell you the name of the place but we had a hamburger that was out of this world and I'm not a big burger fan either also the fried potato chips were awesome.....

But the bars are the best setup.....inside/outside bars with the smell of food.....I really couldn't be any happier here I mean I
Miss my father and all but in 2 weeks hell be down here all the time playing cards....

Again special thanks to cj's dad today for taking the time out of his day to show me around.......had a great time!!!!!!

Also learned today that cj who is one of the best gamblers is the country is whacking horses also served our country in the air force academy......that's very impressive!!!!!!!! Thank you for your service....

Got in too late last night to post so here goes. WW is a very nice and interesting young man. I took him on the nickel tour. headed north from my south Baltimore home towards downtown. We stopped in Federal Hill @ Ryleighs Oyster House for lunch (thanks for the treat WW). We then hit my other favorite bar - MaGerks. We had a beer in each. I think WW was impressed with the scenery, not talking landscape, and we had only scratched the surface. We preceded downtown past the Science Center, the Inner Harbor, and the National Aquarium. Drove through the "Block" abouy 75 yards of strip joints,we did not stop. Now at this point the O's game had started and WW was very understanding ane the tour came to an abrupt halt. I drove back to the local establishment where we parted ways. I did give WW an O's and Raven's cap as a welcoming present. I think he had fun, sure hope so.

WW had a blast.......couldn't have asked for a Nicer day outside the outside/inside bars were awesome....

WW also understands when the whole world must stop when a game comes on....many people have been left before the ball kicks off HAHAHAHAHAHA

Cj's dad was great to hang out with....knows Baltimore like the back of his hand

When cj's dad handed me the raven hat the bad flashbacks came back of the over the top catch in the playoff game....

Also when we got back to the bar cj's dad had no clue how close I was to going back in the Bar and putting in a 8 hour video poker session!!!

It was Definitly a great time!!!

Better yet, open a Twin Spires account, bring a laptop to one of the bars with all the hot women you've seen and free WiFi and you can take care of the three "B" vices all in one place. Booze, Babes and Betting. You could stream the races with sound and that in itself is an attention getter. Pretend that you win every race and the chicks will be hanging all over you. Ah technology!

WW- One Saturday we will have to connect at the local bar where we met. They have TVG and what I usually do is bet all of my races via TVG before I leave home and then sit there and watch. As you know, cheap drinks and good food. Breeders Cup could be the weekend we do this.

Of course it's an epidemic. 0bama has destroyed the American economy and every little city and town struggling to survive is raping citizens wherever they can. Speed traps, cameras, increasing property taxes. They're desperate for OUR money.

Had them all over Europe when I was there. I guess they beat us to the punch. I'm not sure if the rules are the same here, but they had to post the locations ahead of time, so if you got caught it was your own fault for not looking at the website, newspaper, etc.

They're mobile on 695 and 95. Within 1/2 mile of school zones, though rarely in front of schools, usually on some hidden street behind trees . Baltimore city did have to shut them down for a few weeks after it was found that dozens of bogus tickets were given out, including a ticket for going 41 mph by a car stopped at a traffic light. Just want to say I don't condone speeding, just in case someone wants to yell at me.

Cj's dad will love it tnrw when I bring the gang with me:...very good shot the whiffle ball whizz could come out in person.....will Definitly be holding court!!!

Again so close to playing video poker.....
105.7 is a feel good station. very rarely will you hear anything negative about the home team. If a caller says something bad, the next 10 callers will blast him. it's a hard station to listen to, I prefer Rome on AM when I can get it.

Denver - loss
Browns- win
Texans- loss
At buffalo loss
At Miami loss
Packers loss
At Pitt loss

1-7 isn't out of the question.......could be 3-4 but def won't be 4-3 or better

1 week in I'm starting to settle into Maryland pretty good exept that I'm 3/3 in getting home from laurel and like 4/17 in guessing which way I gotta go on I97....true story

Now I'm always the first to bury any racetrack guest service/excessive money for concessions but laurel is quickly starting to make a good impression on me....

I walk in tonight and the waitress in the tycoon bar asks me if I want any drink or food she is very nice.....so I buy a harness book for 4.50 BUT I get a $5 off food coupon I guess for food and drink.....very nice....then the rest of the night you get free refills......first track I seen this at

Second the lady teller im betting off the machines....no after 3 trips I'm starting to like these machines....anyway Im buried all night and get hot late to run my voucher up to 423.60 I was in in for 400 so I give her the 3.60 and I leave.....BUT as I'm walking out at around 11:15 I see Mohawk going off northfield going off and maywood so I'm not going anywhere....make a long story short I hit something for 49.60 and I cash I have no change she gives me a crisp $50 bill......I almost fell down in shock so then I go in the pocket and give her a $2 tip.....

After 3 trips laurel park has great customer service....just gotta work on getting some more harness tvs on around 8.....

You are in yuppyville. There is no city there. The tallest building is a 2 story Ramada Inn. I showed you where the city is; 20 minutes north of you.

Severn hahahahahah.
