Race One:

:10: Talent n Passion draws in as the only MTO. This 3-year-old filly has hit the tote in five of 10 lifetime starts (three wins, two seconds). Solid wet-track pedigree, on both sides. Sire‘s side: City Place (Storm Cat); Dam‘s side: (Songandaprayer). Should have no problem perambulating on the muddy track. Will benefit from her outside post. Should have enough early speed to break to the rail or mid-track. Distance suits. Will need to break alertly from the gate.

Also: :7: Wellspring Legacy; :1: Guyana Star

Race Two:

:7: Start Jumping was the beaten fave in her last at Aqueduct in late February. Faced better at that time. This 3-year-old gelding has solid wet-track pedigree on both sides: Sire - A.P. Indy. Dam - Kris S. Also, solid, recent work: 5 furlongs in 1:00.3 handily. As stated, the gelding has been away from the races for several months. However, if reasonably fit, he can prevail. Jose Ortiz for Michelle Nevin.

Also: :1a: Optionality; :8: Joey N; :2: Like A Boss

Race Three:

:6: Le Deluge is one of two horses in the field who has run two miles -- and won (the other is Ea; is, ea, id). This aptly named (Louis Quatorze) 5 year-old gelding is ridden by Edgar Prado. Anyway, just the piece of non-racing information you were looking for: France’s Louis XV, Louis XIV’s great-grandson, is reported to have said: “Apres moi, le deluge”.

Also: :1: Ea; :4: King’s Village

Race Four:

:2: Saratoga Miss, a 2-year-old chestnut filly, has solid wet-track pedigree: Elusive Quality, Storm Cat. Her trainer, “California Dreamin” Nick Canani, does well in maiden claiming races. This filly can win. She’ll certainly benefit from the off-going.

Also: :6: Sheered; :5: Johnny Meatballs; :3: Crystal Rocket

Race Five: (Beginning of the Pick-Six) Carryover: $43,304

:11: Sky Crew draws in as an MTO. Solid wet-track pedigree (Pulpit, Sky Mesa, Carson City). Third in her only start. Faces similar. Sharp recent work. Irad Ortiz for Richard Schosberg.

Also: :10: Boom Boom Vroom; :9: Lemon Point; :6: Miss Lech

Race Six:

:8: Deceived is a colt with a strong, off-track pedigree (Unbridled, Broken Vow). Also, recent sharp morning work. Should benefit from both outside post and wet going. Alex Solis for Leah “The Preacher” Gyarmati. Oh, a piece of non-racing trivia (shows you how old I am). Do you remember the Brooklyn Dodgers’ pitcher, “Preacher” Roe?

Also: :7: Fox Rox,; :6: Honor Bound; :3: Free Mugatu

Race Seven:

:5: Manda Moo (the filly’s name sound like a college sorority) is a first-time starter with wet-track pedigree: Cherokee Run. Solid morning work at Monmouth. The Hall-of-Famer, John Velazquez, is in the irons for trainer Kevin Nichol.

Also: :7: Courtesan; :4: Duff One; :6: Shine a Spotlight

Race Eight:

:6: Battier - not Shane - draws in and should prevail on the wet main track (Storm Cat). The colt has hit the tote in seven of eight lifetime tries. The Todd Pletcher trainee was last seen at Belmont in the Grade II Dwyer.

Also: :2: Notacatbutallama; :4: North Slope

Race Nine:

:6: And Why Not is a high-priced, well-bred 4-year-old filly who has yet to live up to expectations. However, in recent starts, she has shown glimmers of promise. She was third in her last in the Grade III Delaware Handicap. She now turns back a panel, that should help. The filly also has solid wet-track pedigree (A.P. Indy, Street Cry). Luis Saez for trainer Michael Matz (Three wins from 6 starters).

Also: :2: Sea Island; :8: Flashy American; :7: Lady Cohiba

Race Ten:

:5: Cytherean ships in from Delaware where this Street Sense-bred colt finished third on the dirt. Should handle the off-going; a second in one try on a wet surface. Trainer Mike Trombetta is good with shippers. Jose Lezcano in the irons. Recent sharp work at Laurel indicates readiness.

Also: :2: Matt and Jesse; :3: Barzini; :4: El Season
