This is race 8.

Boy did I mess up, but I caught a break, which actually worked out in my favor. Many of you might not have even noticed this, but in the spirit of transparency, and to show that your scorekeeper is not abusing his "executive privilegdes", I want to share the following details.

A quick summary of what happened:
(a) I posted a selection of Sar06, number :3: Side Road
(b) Near post time, I realized I wanted the :3: in Sar08, so in a separate post, I indicated that the correct race number was 8.
(c) I realized that during the running of race 8, the number :3: horse that I had "intended" to play was not named Side Road. In a moment of sheer luck, I did not submit any more changes.

According to the contest rules, the horse's name takes precedence when the name and race# disagree. Since horse :3: did in fact finish 2nd in race 6, but the posting was late, the selection is scored a "no-play". (Note: Had the :3: finished out of the money in race 6, the selection would have been scored a loss.).

The good fortune I received was getting my "intended" selection scored as a "no-play" rather than a loss.

For anyone who might suggest a conflict in interest (by making a "favorable" ruling on my own selection), you need to go back and re-read all the rules, then come back and tell me why it should be ruled otherwise. I can assure you that this ruling would have been made the same way for any other player in the contest. I can also assure you that if I thought the rules were unclear in some way, I would have sought out others to rule on my own personal situation.

Please forgive me if the above seems a bit defensive, but my integrity, and the integrity of the contest, is very important to me, so I wanted to eliminate any doubts in advance. :)

Now if I can only find that $100 horse to move me into one of the top spots. :p
