I'll take IT! I had the 4 in the TOga-Delmar contest. Look it up. My best bet of the day.

A little fat guy from PA touted me on her.

Johnny V celebrates in strange ways.

Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez became the new all-time leading rider at Saratoga Race Course (http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/racetracks/24/saratoga-race-course) July 27, when he rode his 694th winner in the fourth race on the card.

Nice - the inflated show price really helps in that contest...good across the board score

Apologies I figured most others on here are as NY racing centric as myself.
It was the Prioress at Saratoga.
I have not seen a heavy fav in a Graded race spit out the bit quite like that in a while.

Another bridgejumper just gets nailed at Delmar. Over 400k in show pool goes splash! Race 4 - 7/27/2013

Amazing how people will bet that much money to show on polytrack, that makes absolutely no sense. Also, the horse wasnt 1-5 or 1-9, which is another no no.

They are bridgejumping on Paynter. This is crazy - given the horse's history and the fact that he hates Delmar.

He bridgejumped the 4th choice in the field! Show prices came up lighter than expected.

show money came pouring in on other horses in the Crosby, which deflated the prices some :( . Still an absolute gift.

Definition: A person who bets an unusually large sum on a single horse, like $100,000 to show. Refers to the fact that if they lose they may be jumping off the nearest bridge. You can make this work in your favor if you think the horse that has been bridge jumped will finish out of the money since that will result in huge pay-offs on the other horses.:)

WHO could not hit that bridge jumping? I know anything can happen in a horse race, but if that was me it would have been on jimmy creed or goldencents? just saying.

Oh I see, so a guy bet huge on the favorite to show, but lost meaning the other show bets were paying off huge. Damn, sounds like I missed out. Did everyone bet show on the other horses on the field? Also, how do you know someone is "bridge jumping"?

You look for a certain percentage of the pool to show on some horse. Different folks look for different percentages, but anything over 80% that I see, I bet some amount to show on all the rest, and I double-up my bets on the horses I like.

For example, in a 7 horse race, you would bet $2 to show on all 6 horses EXCEPT the bridgejumper horse, and bet another $2 on the horse(s) you like.

I guess there was a bridgejumper on the 1/9 favorite. Didn't even realize and I got paid $27 for the 5 to show in the ASD challenge.

Maybe the jumper didn't realize the :1: was scratched?

I just woke up and it was the first race I capped being on the west coast and to my horror, I saw the pool just as they were turning for home
