I ordered something from Target.com. It was shipped UPS. I check on the tracking of the package this morning. It arrived in Lincoln by UPS yesterday and then was transferred to the post office for delivery. I have never seen this before. Has anyone else?

See it all the time.. there are partnerships and sub-contracts among USPS, UPS, FedEx etc these days. For eg, whenever I order thru Amazon, shipping is via "FedEx Smartpost", delivered to me by the USPS.

Yes. It has happened to me also. The lady postman that delivers my
mail said UPS gives them a huge box each day with packages they
can't deliver. She said they claim they are loosing money yet they
turn over business to USPS.

I have.
Not a lot, but occasionally they transfer if final delivery is in a rural area, or our of the way.

btw, UPS and Fed Ex are going to merge next year.
The new company will be called.....Fed Up.

Back in the 60's and 70's I used to drive a delivery van and I would see it all the time.

Trucking Companys would have, say 1 or 2 deliveries' in out of way places and another trucking company would have deliveries in that area, they would do the deliveries for them and the other trucker would return the favor.
