Woodbine Entertainment Group, the owner of Hastings Park in Vancouver, B.C, Canada wants to sell the racetrack. You can read all about it at this link, if you want to:

I don't believe they Own the property, so all one would buy is the right to lose money in Vancouver, and some lumber to recycle.

Better to build a new track, a bit east... say in Calgrary:)

or one at the 'Calgary Zoo' (for non-Albertans that is Edmonton):).

PS is there any requirement that race tracks must be level, or even oval ... why not figure 8's, with an overpass in the middle?

Brian,

--Easy there. You may not know this, but Edmonton is known as the "City of Champions". Just ask FFFAST, KEILAN, or me.

Here's a link for some more info about the "City of Champions", to help you become more enlightened:

Brian,

Now I see the reason for the little dig about your description of Edmonton.

I should have added some fine print after the term "City of Champions"...i.e... "Doesn't apply to T2W's handicapping some days"...LOL....

I think they have varying degrees of banked turns. Europe has few rules for layout or gradation.

How about a track where the finish line is at the 1/16th pole. Man I'd be Rockefeller...
