Is this for real or a good photoshop job? I know that a baseball, when struck by a bat, is going to deform slightly, but is this normal? Any physicists out there that want to take this one?

I'm thinking something funny with the bat or ball, or maybe the guy is just a beast when he makes this kind of contact.

In the early 80's I saw Jose Canseco hit a centerfield drive through the plywood at All Sports Park in OKC. It was about 410.

The split second impact does this....just like a extra slow motion golf ball getting hit

I saw a great picture once of Mickey Mantle swinging the bat. The bat appears to be bending under the velocity of the swing.

No. before contact.

Not sure if it was real or optical illusion of some kind. It was certainly pre-photoshop. I searched for the picture online but could not find it.

Perhaps it was all a dream. LOL
