It says in an article, that Churchill Down Inc. is looking over some property at Irving, California as a possible site for a new racetrack.

Here's the link to the story:

That is prime property.......between the 405 and the 5. You can't beat that. It may end up being too pricey. It is the former "Tustin Marine Air Station" It is very close to John Wayne Airport too. The onsite runway is right in the middle of the property, thereby making it a goner when it comes construction time. John Wayne Airport has less than 6k feet of runway.......but they can get those smaller private jets in there.

Anybody think this becomes the "New Hollywood Park" or is this going to be a totally new track with its own name etc?

The run way at Tustin is closed, bigger question is what will they do with the giant blimp hanger, they are registered land marks. Still, that would be nice, as a track Hollywood park is nice, just in a bad location. Facing east would give you a view of the Saddleback Mts, simular to Santa Anita's view.
