Ya gotta love it when a team with a low payroll beats up on the rest of the league. Only 3 MLB teams have a lower payroll than the Pirates. The Astros are on the bottom of the list, but they have some amazing young talent. In a couple years they'll be where the Pirates are, still banking a low payroll.

The model is broken. The Pirates are better than the Yankees and i'm not sure its even close.

Time to go back to the drawing board for some of these high payroll teams.

Totally agree.,...seems like after the rays got good everything is changing....of course we all remember when there are blockbuster trades u always see "players to be named later/3 first round draft picks/future considerations" well this is all your players to be named later.....I love every second of this

When you see the Trouts, Puig's and Harper's showing up and wrecking it, you have to ask yourself if these 30 something players are 'over the hill' and the 19 and 20 year old kids are just better. If a guy can come from the minors and kill it, why pay someone 180 million?

this years different. i do think the starting pitching will work more innings as last years colapse happened when 2 starters couldn't get out of the 2nd inning and it wore down the pen. plus this year theres a much better catcher who can throw out base stealers and a SS whos playing both good defense and can hit. now AJ and Wandy have been on the dl and i think this could save there arms for latter in the year. plus Locke and Lareano have been consistent. now one hopes Locke doesnt become a Mcdonald. but if he does....call up Cole! (as i think the pirates will send him back down when aj or wandy come back)

The Pirates are truly amazing. They are playing great BB. At the start of the season I projected them winning only 73 games all season and here they are sitting on 50 wins before any other team. I think MIL is an overlay today though. They went down to +128 currently. I had them early today at +142. and took advantage of that price. We shall see.

This is good for the game. The past few years they were solid in the first half but faded badly in the second half. Think that won't be the case this year. Not saying they will win the Central, but they'll be in contention in September.

"Past Performance is Not Necessarily Indicative of Future Results"

But July is here and the Pirates are 2-4 so far....

The Orioles have lost six of nine, and they're "only" eight games above .500. I doubt there's many fans over there wondering if they'll finish above .500.

Not looking good for my cardinals.
Just got swept for the first time in a long time by the braves, and now we have an extended series with the pirates. Nervous.
