If you haven't heard about the SCOTUS decision today, you probably don't care.

But if you do care, this is a win for voter ID laws.

Texas law goes into action immediately.

And an even bigger win for judicial activism.

It's fun to watch progressives dig in in support of 50-year-old models.

It is a win for the bigots. They will be out force trying to bring back all the laws that kept minorities from voting before voting right bill. It is absolutely dumb to think they have gone away.

I agree. Civil rights groups would better serve their constituents if they directed time and effort to getting these folks ID'd up. Favoring the less-fortunate at the voting booth just vanished.

The bigots here are those who take the Black vote for granted - that they will blindly follow the democrats and that they are too lazy/stupid to be able to get ID.

I have faith that most Black folks would be able to get ID and ALL Black folks would be better off without the democrats.

The democrats cease to exist as soon as people stop seeing themselves as minorities and start seeing themselves as citizens. The democrats offer nothing but excuses and dependency.

As a group they'd certainly be trimmer. ;)

Bigoted? LOL

I prefer Abbott's description over yours. >>
“This is a huge win for the Constitution and for equality in this country,” Abbott said. “Before today, different states were treated differently under the Constitution. The Voting Rights Act is the only law that was used to impose disparate or different kind of treatment. Specifically, Texas was called out and treated differently than other states.”
