I'll give everyone one guess why the meeting had to be held AFTER the beach season ends

Dumb question but how do u go about watching a 6f race on a straightaway....I mean if you stand on the wire you will have no clue what's going on

Hilton Head has 2F sand races every year. See video link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOOGJtATd10.

You can see the large crowds starting at about the 1:30 mark. Well attended, but hard to see the races from any one position. A novelty event.

The same way you would if you were at Newmarket, Hippodrome, Dubai etc where the stretch is like 5 miles long, haha.

HRTV was covering Royal Ascot and Redcar this past weekend.
Ascot runs all of their one mile and shorter races on a straight course.

Royal Ascot's track is shaped like Pocono Raceway of NASCAR fame. A coat hanger.

This is just another gimmick to get people to AC. Once the politicians realize Atlantic City isn't going to help the state one bit tax wise the push for the casino expansion to the Meadowlands will begin. Whats next barrel racing in Trenton?
