This fellow certainly stays on top of the various plots unfolding in the equine arena. Always an interesting read.

The quote of the week is a classic.

His tout on the bottom right won for fun at Indiana Downs.
Firster that only paid $4.80, but as Indian Charlie himself might say:
"Better to have winner at short price, than loser and long face"

It means the guy is real garbage. There is a real difference between lampooning someone and what he does, which is vicious and hateful.

Don't know if it's hateful, but I'm surprised you can pick up a copy in the racing office.

Yes, I know you can. And I wasn't speaking of this issue, but the individual and his work as a whole.

Available in the Racing Office, but not welcome everywhere. In the mid 90s during a meet at Keeneland, his sheet found it's way up to all the tables in one of their high-dollar rooms in the clubhouse prior to the track opening for the day. Bill Greely was president of the track at the time, and a big fan of Indian Charlie's sheet, but this act ticked Greely off, and he could be intimidating when he wanted to be. He had all the sheets removed from the room, and told IC very firmly "this is Keeneland, and we don't do that."

Oops, guess he was taking Donald Sterling's lead.

He went over the top on the hispanic comment and many are comments are cringe worthy but there are always some good one-liners sprinkled through out.

"At Churchill Downs, we're not satisfied until your not satisfied."

And reminder by Carstanjen that the new improved takeout will result in 99-1 odds now paying $52.80. :D

It is tabloid journalism at its finest but he seems to have his finger on the pulse of many situations.
