Race 1 (Queen Anne Stakes): Animal Kingdom is beatable over a mile on the turf, but I struggle to find a horse with the required class in this field. The best I can come up with is E/W bets on Trade Storm and Sovereign Debt.

Race 2 (King's Stand Stakes): This is all about the South African horse Shea Shea. 7/4 looks like a good price. Reckless Abandon to complete the exacta.

Race 3 (St James' Palace Stakes): A fascinating clash between Dawn Approach and Magician. I'm with the latter. Glory Awaits is a nice E/W price.

Race 4 (Coventry Stakes): Aidan O'Brien is strong handed here. Stubbs is the obvious choice but for betting I prefer Sir John Hawkins at a better price. Also keep an eye on Riverboat Springs. Finished like a runaway freight-train at Epsom last time after not handling the course.

Race 5 (Ascot Stakes): Mysterious Man for me.

Race 6 (Windsor Castle Stakes): I have high ratings for Andhesontherun (18/1), Supplicant (20/1) and My Catch (12/1) so I'm backing those three. The American raider ran fast on debut but is a question mark on the turf.

Holy Mother Macree!
4-nil

The winner is a Kentucky-bred by War Front.
One thing to always remember about the O'Brien stable - there is not a bad horse in the yard.

What was your reasoning in selecting Parbold?
Juveniles are one of the few areas I have a small edge!

I follow trainer Richard Fahey's column at sportinglife.com
He's very up front about his horses chances.
He figured Parbold was his best chance of a winner this week, and he was a price.
Worth a small win/place wager.

Who's the young Irishman in the TVG studio today with Simon Bray?
Haven't seen him before.

So Race 6..
I see joel rosario on Ogermeister.. didnt know he was over there. These fields are HUGE....If you get it right with some of these youngsters.. the payouts should be great.
This might be my play just because it is Rosario. and beginners luck at Ascot..

One thing I cannot understand is.. WHY in a straight 5f, 6f or mile race... WHY do the horses (jockeys) need to bunch up and then open up again closer to finish? Do they really save much by "drafting"...i think they should just run side to side and keep it simple.

Ok not going with Ogermeister..
Going with :13: Justice Day --> WP -- screw all others.

I had played (in the SOLE POWER race) an exacta 18 w 12,11 and the result was 11 w 12. 18 nowhere in picture!
Didnt play this one as I have no clue how to cap ultra marathon races!

Ice,

Many of the closers have only one acceleration move so they need to be covered up until well inside the final furlong and then unleashed (e.g. Sole Power).

John Thanks, I didn't realize that.. but even at 5f? That's an usain bolt type sprint I would think.. but of course, it is not quarterhorse racing ;)

Ice,

In fact, for many sprinters at 5f and 6f in Europe, there is a big difference in their performances depending on field size - it is worth using it as a filter for contenders!

So Race 6..
Ok not going with Ogermeister..6/5...wtf?
Going with :13: Justice Day --> WP -- screw all others. Also adding PL bets on :4: Ben Hall and :21: Supplicant --> the 21 is based on Richard Fahey's pick.. haha let's see if this guys gets it here!

---quite mad  -- so (and this is a non handicapping angle- I was thinking that Declaration of War won, then War Command won.. and I was thinking if i should throw some money on Extortionist --- just because of the name..) and my bet didnt go thru as it was a late thought haha.. but I am glad that someone helped me with picking Supplicant! Place payout should give me something back to play the Mountain tonight haha!

Price on Ogermeister is way too low - what's his price on the exchanges and in the English books?
Swinging against him in the win hole

Plenty of 7-1 available on him at the bookies, maybe higher on the exchange to a low amount.
Plus, you would get 2.75-1 guaranteed for place/show there.
No value on the :16: in the US pool.
