Race 8
#3 AL MUSADDAD 3-1 Keith / Biehler
2nd in a good allowance race in first local start. Was far back early and came running well up the rail for 2nd. Track was playing against anyone moving on the rail and he ran about the best of anyone on the inside. 4th place finisher from that race came back to win at 20k claiming. 8th place finisher came back to run 3rd to sensational looking, Bourbon County. Was in a tough race two back at OP. Pace flow sets up nicely.

i spent about an hour on that race last night. its a real head scratcher. i came up with a lukewarm play on the Midwest Thoroughbred horse just because he has been facing tougher his whole career.

good luck with your pick in that one

It is a very tough race. Depends a lot on how the track is playing. Lots of speed in the race. Your horse, Big Bruin, might get a nice trip tracking the speed.

Canterbury Race 4:

#1 Waffehouse Kid - Not sure how this one gets beat. Hate the favorite #6 Key The Code.

Terrible two horse spill triggered by intereference from the winner #4. 4 was DQ'd. Knocked down the two favorites, #1 Wafflehouse Kid and #6 Key the Code. Hope everyone involved is ok.

Canterbury Race 6
#1 Cheap Chocolate looks fantastic on the track. I have #2 Supremo Struckgold on top but think this runner might be live. 18-1 on the board right now.

#2 HONEY FEVER 4-1 Smith / Spawr
First timer for Bill Spawr might be bred for the grass but has been working well and for quite some time coming into this debut. Spawr has won with 2 of his last 3 debut starters in maiden claiming company. Love the spacing of the works. Tabs Mike Smith.

#2 KOBE'S BACK 7-2
First timer for John Sadler who does not start debut runners in stakes races (0 in the last 5 years). 480,000 purchase has been working well. Half brother to 347,000 winner, Well Spaced, who took the G3 Jersey Shore last July. Backbreeding reveals G2 winner, Notion, as well. Should be primed for this spot. Tab tote for more clues.

#7 FINDING CANDY 9-2 Keith/Biehler
260,000 Keeneland Nov 2010 purchase by Candy Ride out of a Seeking the Gold mare. Backbreeding reveals 2002 Oak Tree Breeder' Cup Mile (G2) winner, Night Patrol, who won 822k (646k on the grass). Was claimed from debut for 25k from Michael Stidham. Game in maiden win over a good looking OP shipper for Mac Robertson. Decent effort in last in an off-the-turf allowance race. Back to the grass here which is where he should be.

Might be the best debut I've seen in years. Are you kidding me? Broke many lengths slow, was dead last all the way around and wins in a gallup? And in a 100k stakes race? Wow!

#5 CHAIRMAN CROOKS 3-1 Butler / Rengstorf
First timer for a trainer that does very well with two-year old debut runners, especially when he has Butler up. He's had 7 debut two-year olds with Butler up. He's won 3 times and been in the money in all 7. 27k Kee Sep sale of 2012 and that was the 6th highest for this sire. Dam raced in So. Cal. and won her first start by 7 with a 94 Beyer on her way to 200k in her career.

Won in a hand ride. Made even money look like stealing.
