Did anyone see the 2nd at Colonial today? The connections of the :14: horse posted elsewhere that their horse finished 8th after striking and killing two geese and returning to the paddock with cuts and bruises (the horse, not the geese).

I heard the track announcer mention the geese taking off; isn't that a little dangerous, and is there anything that the track could do about that? Open season on geese?

At Canterbury, late in the season, they can have geese problems. They hire a trained dog to chase them away just before the race. I have heard other tracks do the same thing.

At Turfway a few years ago, as the horses were coming down the stretch and there were geese on the track. I remember one trying to fly away and hit the horse and jockey causing Corey Orm to fall off Lavenham
