I could not disagree more. I think "excitement" is directly related to guaranteed losses, and the emphasis on the "thrill" of betting panders to the losers. If one is betting solely for the "excitement" of an occasional win, one should not particularly care whether one is losing or winning overall.

That is easily proven. Rather than posting daily results (in which occasional positive ROIs are dramatically emphasized, with more frequent losses posted with minimal comment, aside from occasional references to bad weather or other excuses for the losses), keep a running score of ROI for the past month/season/year.

That would provide a MUCH more accurate evaluation of the results of the selections, for those who wager in the hope of winning. Because it would do nothing to diminish the thrills of those who wager in the hope of injecting a little excitement into their otherwise boring, uneventful lives, it would be a win-win situation. There are not many of those around.

Just a suggestion you might consider.

[From another thread]
"And for those spotting (and tracking) trends ... pay close attention to Mr. Trifecta's picks for the 5th. They may offer greater than normal value."

It is called "pattern recognition."
