A great film about "film" from WWII

Stick with it. The pilot getting to see the footage for the first time is worth watching. They don't make em like these guys anymore

Great content, fantastic that they identified the pilot from the tail fin and shared with him the film footage. What better way to thank a gent for his brave service to our country.

Loved it and find myself more and more drawn to these reminisces despite the fact that I am a boomer born in the post war period. Even more amazing is that they were able to find this guy before his death, as the numbers seriously dwindle.

From any number of WW2 pieces, one learns that the vast majority of real heroes who did the grinding, but necessary work to defeat fascist tyranny, never get recognition. As per 'Band of Brothers', they are almost ordinary people from humble lives: farmers, workers, small biz guys, etc.

Certainly that was the case for Canadians, who participated from start to finish in both World Wars and whose tales were seldom captured for history.

For every 'Zaytsev', there are millions who simply came home to pick up their disrupted lives.

Amazing footage JR. But i disagree; they do make them like this. You met my son. I will say that these WW II guys were(are) a breed apart. Thanks again. Top notch stuff !!

thanks, that was a really good film. That moment when he sees the footage of the plane landing and says "that's me" is priceless.
