Any folks go to Penn National? I am planning on going there Sat as some big names are showing up.

Rydilluc, Charming Kitten, Noble Tune from this 3 yr old crop in the Penn Turf Mile (- Rosario,Castellano, Johnny V, Luis Saez etc.

Older horses: Macho Macho in another race, Chamberlain Bridge, Pants on Fire, Norman Asbjornson

This track has free entry and free parking so hope to check it out and see some big names up close hopefully!
PM me if you want to exchange any contact info! It would be fun to see some fellow PA-ers. Already emailed one!

Have fun - that Penn Turf Mile looks to me to be one hell of a race.

Here's a few thoughts for the Penn Nat Card.

2nd Race:

#1 Tightend TD.

Going to take a swing with this horse in here, visually he's been stunning on tape, looks like a complete monster strides like a quality horse and has run them off their feet the last 2 times. It might be tough for him to get the top here, but if he breaks running, i'm going to take my chances.

3rd race:

#4 Easter Gift.

Love this horse, he's a great looking son of Hard Spun with a powerful stride, he could be any kind of horse. Going to box him up with the 1 (who was 3rd in a sensational race at Belmont) and the 2 who gets a significant rider switch and is also very talented. You can't go wrong with the 1, 2 or 4 in here, but i'm a fan of the 4 as a horse, so that's where i'm headed. We might be able to get some value with the 1 and 2 having really fancy jocks.

4th race:

The favorites here look very strong. The 1, 6, 7 and 8 are all pretty good...so, maybe the key here is to try and get some longshot underneath in the tri? I hate releasing a tri at this place with the ridiculous takeout, hopefully you all get a juicy rebate ;) to counteract the hideous take, maybe you can make a partwheel 1,6,7, 8 with 1,6,7,8 with 4 and try and get the Attfield horse, who has a nose loss to the 1 horse at Tampa to his credit, into the 3rd spot to round out the tri. Hot Jock Saez on board.

6th Race:

Candyman E. I know he's 8-5 ML, but this isnt that strong of a race, and he's got a good stalking style with a lot of speed signed up in this 5 furlong dash. The fields he's been facing are better than these, sometimes its better to take a short price than to have a long face.

7th Race:

Braulio. Hopefully he selects this race over the later one he's crossentered in, lets take a shot with a horse for the course, a keen closer in a race with a bunch of speed signed up at 6 Furlongs. *if he chooses the other spot, im not sure i like him as much, not too excited about betting a deep closer at 5F from post 1*

SRU: nice analysis..
race 4
funnily enough... 1-6-7 has been this old lock combination of a bike lock that I "cracked open" - on a lock that changed combo from my original code.. Ever since then. i keep an eye on that combo but bet it as such because I dont play horses like lottery..
maybe this is the race.. and yes Saez is super hot right now!

Some of my best track visits were hanging on the rail at Penn on a hot summer night. I loved that track in the 70s. Tomorrow's card looks inviting. Prm has some nice races at night, too.

Looks like a late night Saturday.

Since they've torn down the track building, moved, and rebuilt it in recent years, it's probably not a dump anymore.

So the card is pretty good but the top races are over by 730 est...maybe their idea was to catch the prime time too....

HRTV interviewed someone from Penn Nat'l yesterday. He said that the lights don't extend to the grass course, so they had to run the grass races earlier in the evening. They then decided to package all the stakes together into a pick 4. He said they would rather have run the races later in the card.

Hard to argue with that - I'm the sentimental type and actually met Ben's Cat in the barn at Laurel, so I'm on the :11:

Some fun races on this card as a horse racing fan; not as easy as a handicapper!

LOL. The King is getting advanced in age and it's been fun to follow Ben's Cat as a legacy bet. I can't bet against Ben's Cat having met him - it's some sort of throwback to the pinnacle of Maryland racing.

I haven't been to penn national since they built the casino. How is it??? Do they have nice areas for the horseplayer or do they cater strictly to the casino goers??

I was there on Opening Night in 1974 making the jockey bets of Rudy Turcotte from Keystone.

Rudy was a stand up guy.More than I can say for the crumbs that call Grantville home in 2013.

You know who you are....you only live once phonies..........I challenged you at Parx this past Spring and you ran way like the silly fat fool you are known throughou racing.

Good card tonight.
Kudos for putting it together.
Nice to have good racing at night.
Penn, CT, Mnr, Prm, all putting up a big race night every year....good direction to take.

Penn just eclipsed its all-time handle record......with 5 races to go.
Nicely played.

Thanks Sru! I had a great time at the track and my friends loved it too. Good call on Tightend Touchdown! I didn't like the odds on him though so I didn't play him! But you were definitely thought of when this horse was surging!
I didn't do we'll on the betting though but I also discovered that I am better off as an Internet bettor than waiting on ticket machines..but just for the heck of it I tried the teller as well as the machine...but on rydilluc/areukiddingme exactas and some other longship fun bets.
It was also cool to meet track collector and proximity! :) my pics are too big to upload here by filesize but I will s
Reduce and add some tomorrow! I think it is a nice track for being far away from big cities

I watched the first 4 races they were all good and I'm now convinced that Rydilluc is the best 3 yr old grass horse in the country he was awesome, Noble Tune was never a factor. Congrats to Contessa he should have a big year with him as long as he stays sound, he's a big beautiful colt......:ThmbUp:

Don;t forget to stop by the Renpher Stable booth/table. I undersgtand Fatso is giving out autographed pictures of himself in the clown suit he wears to the stable every morning, "You only live once." Thanks!! but I saw this only after I left penn national..too late!! dont have internet on phone.. so I did nt check the board regularly. It was quite busy at the track with lot of people so a lot my time got used up in eye candy ;) and looking at post parades..

great meeting iceknight and great to see track collector (who was sharp, nailing the triple in the easter gift race) again!! Great to meet you guys too! These folks were new to the US, I was catching them young ;) and see if they would get into racing... one of my friends showed lot of interest in Bris stats and capping, understanding odds etc...so maybe there is some hope!

Look forward to visiting other tracks and visiting Penn Nat again..
Here are some pics.. (more if anyone cares lol. are here (http://stockgage.blogspot.com/2013/06/penn-national-visit.html) )
