Been a tough meet so far, except for a nice tri on Saturday.
Preakness wounds have healed and it's time to get right.

Race 1: coming out swangin with a longshot in here...#6 Petrocelli.
Coming out of two fast paced NY bred stakes, won nicely the only time he went long (and they wanted turf that day) defeating a next out winner, has speed and turf blood, in a pretty paceless race and JJ is likely to send hard with the rails at 27ft on the inner.
Admittedly looks too slow but the dynamics may play in his favor.
Gotta respect the #1 off his debut, but he got a 4 way war in front and rolled by. Also, the 2nd and 3rd finishers came back to miss the board in their next starts (I know this because they were on my watch list and I bet them both :D )...he is underlaid at 1-1 right now.
Will use Petrocelli with the 5-9-11.
Kinda pulling for Steve Byk's #9 but he projects to get another wide trip today

tri: 9-11 w 1-5-9-11 w 6
ex: 9-11 w 6
ex: 6 w 1-5-9-11
win:6

good luck today

well this is a bad omen - Petrocelli is #7 - not #6.
Replace all sixes with sevens in the above post :faint:

Petrocelli gave it a whirl but wasn't good enough.
I was right to toss the #1 from the win hole, but that's about it.
The "pulled up, vanned off" angle strikes again, at 36-1 :D

Race 2:
see no value here except for maybe the ML chalk #2 who is 9-2 right now.
Gets back to one turn, was a neck to Saint Vigeur and has speed...but he's been a bit of a disappointment huh? Turf try in last seems like a stab, now back to dirt, blaaaah.
#3 was claimed off a good Jacobson set from Jan-Apr with 2 wins and 2 seconds, so good luck with that.
Jacobson has #7 in full effect right now and no reason to foresee a setback, wraps on in last meant nothing, gotta use him if you're betting this one.
Top notch connections on an improving #5 so ya figure he's got to be included as well.
Looking hard at #1 but he hasn't won out of NY breds. Fresh, likes Bel, his best can have him right there, hot jock takes the mount...maybe.

NO PLAY

Nice job by Lezcano on the #1 in R2 - still think 9-2 was an underlaid price on him though.

Race 3:
cannot accept a runner up type like #6 as the 2-1 chalk - no way.
Like the 5-10 the best here.
The Chad Brown/Rosario #3 will be coming late and must be respected, but I will use him underneath only.
The two mysteries for me are the 7-8...#7 gained late in a sprint and now gets Lasix for the stretchout, but isn't exactly sporting a turf pedigree.
The #8 does have turf blood and I will use him. Tough break last time and still ran on late.

Thx Magwell

Race 6:
lots of unknowns in this one and it's hard to find a play...maybe #2
Zito gets a hot jock up with a nice worktab. Got bet a little in his Sar debut and ran last...needs to outsprint the Sheriffs shipper and maybe #1 for the lead. Can be there with some luck.
Going to try to beat the chalk FTS #9. I never play FTS without a 5f work, except for a few trainers i'm familiar with.
The Serpe 2nd timer gets off the rail and may break better today - #5 came running in his debut.

Price is right on the 2-5 so a very small shot is in order:
$1 ex: 2-5 w 2-3-5-7-9-10-11-12

ridiculous play in R6 - gotta let those races go

Race 7:
I am a sucker for speed with the rails out - this #2 will have the lead to herself, but she's got to hold off some serious stretch runners.
#5 closes into any kind of splits, and #3 is a bit overlooked but also a strong stretch runner...working nicely too.
Respect the chalk #4 - needed her last (or hung) and ran very well in the BrCup - maybe she ain't what she was as a 2yr old...let's try to beat her.

In the end I think #2 gets caught:
ex: 3-5 w 2-3-4-5
win: 3

lovely

Race 8:
getting right to it - I like #5 Disposablepleasure
Javier needs to take her back a bit and let the Joneses battle it out with maybe Authenticity in there too. Look see outside trip can get it done
3-1 right now
