Haha, I thought the same thing the first time I saw this ad a while back. What about channel BET (Black Entertainment Television)? Whites would be called racists if there was a WET. There is a UNCF (United Negro College Fund) but not a UWCF.

I could care either way though, doesn't bother me about BET since there are many 'white' shows.

The double standard is such a joke......I'm sure this thread could be labeled as racism.....and yes BET is just fine but if there was a Caucasian version of BET you would see al sharpton having a hour long show on msnbc about it....

Along these same lines I was on Facebook the other day and saw a page that was a "straight pride" page......that was called homophobic buy the homosexual camp but why is it ok for people to wear gay pride shirts and rainbows on there cars but we can't be proud of being straight....this is all getting old real fast

The dumbness from the right knows no bounds. Is there anywhere on this site where it says whites, or Asians, or Hispanics are not welcome. There is not. The site targets a certain demographic, in the same way an organization for Catholic singles targets a certain demographic, or an organization for Jewish singles targets that demographic.

I suddenly had the thought to see what would happen if I googled Catholic singles and/or Jewish singles. Among many results were these: CatholicPeopleMeet.com and JPeoplemeet.com The sites are identical to BlackPeopleMeet.com except that they target a different subgroup. There is no racial or religious bigotry here. It's just good old American entrepreneurship in action.

It's no problem to me if a white person wants to marry a black person. It's no problem to me it a Catholic wishes to marry a Jewish person. In fact, one of my good Catholic friends is married to a Jewish man and they are, of course, quite happy.

Nevertheless, people are most comfortable with those who are similar to themselves. I am perfectly fine with folks joining organizations made up of those with a similar background. I am not fine with anyone who says you can only join such organizations.

There is a WET. There are actually several. They are not called WET. They are called ABC and NBC and CBS and FOX.

As for the United Negro College Fund, that was started because traditional scholarship sources were not available to Blacks.

Maybe before you post your next link you should read the article-or ask someone to read it to you and explain to you why the "White Girls Club" was a blatantly racist group. For example, the following paragraph from your article.

Getting old real fast in my opinion....at some point somebody has to make a stand on these issues....how many racial issues does Steven a smith make on espn if a white person had the same stances they would be done....look at jimmy the Greek what did he say he said the black athlete was built better then white people.....every black athlete had zero problem with what he saiD

Straight pride isn't really about straight pride because many of the posts on the straight pride page are about "Defending" traditional marriage. Except they are not really about "Defending" traditional marriage. They are about attacking gay marriage.

I must confess that I spend little or no time reading gay publications or literature, but I am pretty sure they do not go around saying that heterosexuals should not be allowed to marry or adopt children.

I never meet a black in any position above the garage manager level. There were some women who had gotten to the regional manager level (and fairly common at the city manager level), but upper management was a white boys only club. I left the industry in 2007, so things may have changed, but if it did, I'd guess from what I saw, it would be white women, not blacks, that made the jump to next level.

In your opinion was the Howard cossel monkey comment a career ending statement? This was way before my time so excuse me for my lack of knowledge of this subject....he called other white athletes monkeys too so that should have ended it...,,the double standard is amazing....

On a side note I actually dealt poker at my casino last night and not supervise big pot guy bets 475 and he yell at me what do u think of that bet Robert?!??
