Hi everybody, I wanted to let you know that I have a new series out at AP called RACEHORSE.

This year we're gonna be doing something different, following 5 local owners and 5 individual horses throughout the AP 2013 season.

The premier episode came out today and can be found here:

Great idea Jessica...we'll be watching.

May I suggest a slightly different twist, perhaps for a new series next year?

How about following a couple of the local serious players...as they try to profitably negotiate the AP 2014 season?

As always, Thaskalos with a GREAT suggestion! Rarely does the bettor ever seem to be the focal point, yet we ARE the game. Maybe at least as part of a future series?

Anytime u see horseplayers in any tv series or any shot when they have a telecast it's basically in a negative manner or at best not a positive one....

They will show 5 older guys looking miserable or somebody body screaming and trying to use body English to get a horse home in front of some tv in a remote part of the track

Why not follow around a smart horseplayer that knows what he is doing and maybe somebody will become interested

As a gambler I really don't care about stories or connections of horses outside of derby day.....like thaskalos said why not be different and follow a gambler around

It is a good idea....but guessing the serious player probably does not want the attention.Might be hard find any participants.

I don't know about that...

I am a little camera-shy myself...but I would gladly step out of my comfort zone for the sake of my viewing audience. :)

They were probably trying to shoot videos that people will watch.

They can follow me around at the track and the younger crowd might actually see the track isn't boring....these days kids in there 20s wanna play cards and bet football they don't realize the track is the best action in town...the best...

Jessica you should find some young new blood betting horses....this can open up doors to racing for a whole new crowd...there gotta be some young guy around 30 at AP firing in bets from all angles....maybe that can kick start a new group of players and your series can spark interest in new people....I don't think the average player or racing spectator cares about connections.....if you wanna have lots of viewers show them that making money at the track is possible that will get people's attention very fast....

Last month I dragged 2 people I work with to atlsntic city racecourse they raced 6 days we went 5 of them....day 1 they were betting $3 WPS on 4 different horses and various exacta boxes betting $70 a race....after a few days they were picking my Brain and taking that 70 and going for jugular betting tri keys using 2 horses over 5 over 8 and hitting nice numbers...

These 2 clowns I run with are poker playing degenerates who now bet about $500 a day when they are at th casino...they have the mindset now why should I lose 600 playIng blackjack when I get swing for the fences and make 2000 on a $48 bet......these 2 guys who are 30 now beg me to go bet horses with them

Please take a chance and show the gambling side of horse racing a show like your doing is one of the only chances this game has..

Look at Chris moneymaker the poker player I became friends with him since I work in the poker industry if it wasn't for him poker wouldn't be where it is today.....he turned the heads of kids that ANYBODY can win playing cards and now thousands of young people play cards cus of him....just get the idea racing can be profitable and people will come!!!!

Can't wait to watch your series!!!

I really enjoyed the Tim Thornton series from last season, and anticipate great things following these horses and owners this year ... keep up the good work.

Thank you Jessica,
You and your team are a credit to the sport. Very enjoyable and well done as always.

That was very well done; the rescue involving Lulu and Taxi was bringing tears to my eyes in a good way. The realist in me knows that winning owners at the AP level are very likely the significant exception rather than the rule, but it's a great promotion thus far of the sport at the owner level.

Looking forward to the next episode.

I think a video series featuring handicappers could be a pretty good idea if it can attract some young people who are naturally competitive and want to try winning money.

But why leave it up to Jessica to wander around AP and find some guy to make a video with? I think some of you handicappers should submit audition videos to Jessica (or uploaded to YouTube) showing what you do.

Just get some buddies to follow you around with a video camera one day and then edit it down to about 4-5 minutes. Other handicappers do the same.

Either Jessica can decide which one of you is the most interesting subject for a video series, or else the videos can be put up on YouTube and everyone can help decide which one of you would attract lots of viewers.
