Oxbow 5
Orb 5

not for nothing, the KY derby winner could have been placed in the #2
(tied) spot.

biggest issues on ORB:

Possible Bounce candidate, ability to handle post.Probable winner
based on this matchup, then again, no value, other than in a
pick 6 bet should there be "spin" in the other races.

if there's a magical horse, it very well could be Departing based on his
w/o's on 3/24 and 4/14 and his subsequent win of the Ill Derby with
first time Lasix. Yup, Grade III ,but before the arguments arise note Orb ran
on 1/26 at GP in a "shape Up" Open 75k claimer.

My other play will be Rosie in an exacta /tri with Departing Orb and "ITS".

Aside from being Bumped in the Derby, (and losing by about 4 lengths) I love the trainer and Mylute beat
Departing in the LA Derby.Should moderate/heavy rain arise, my bet will
increase and I'll add Gov Charlie in the exacta/supers(MIdnight Lute is
the sire of Mylute and Gov. Charlie)

Probably will be "burning" $$$, and accused of insanity, but races
like this sometimes fall apart, especially in the Tri Crown series)

Still curious how the DRF Consensus came to this rating ..

Good Post. Orb's stretch run in the Derby was impressive. A great horse could duplicate and not bounce. I'm sticking with Orb as a top choice, but will be watching the tote-board on the 9-5-2-8. Should any of these go crazy and offer great value, I might go with them. This could easily end up a 2-5 exacta. I just want to beleive Orb is one of the great horses, but the serious bettor in me realizes that we just won't know until after the race.

Maybe they are trying to get better odds on Orb and dupe the public into betting on someone else.

The consensus is looking for the front to win, which will happen. It's myluckyday was wisked away to recover at Monmouth after the derby, which in my book is a major negative. Oxbow is a logical choice. If Goldencents can get to the 4 slot by the 1st turn and maintain a lead he'll also be dangerous. But that's a big if, when having to go against Lukas.

Mylute isn't getting much chatter. He had about the worst of the trips. If Rosie had move 2/5 of a second earlier , there wouldn't have been a lane for Orb. Better post position, shorter distance, and less traffic puts him in th exotics. Bred for speed. Don't think he'll catch one of the front runners, but Rosie will have him moving.

Did you see the Florida Derby? Orb OWNS IMLD. IMLD had his head cocked towards the grandstand during the stretch run. When Orb was sweeping by IMLD, IMLD cocked his head towards the inside rail, as if to concede to Orb. After I saw this, I doubt IMLD would pass Orb if he ever got in a position to do so.

my worst nightmare comes true,as Lukas/Stephens go unchallenged
and breeze to victory, feel like I'm back in the 80's.

I'd love to know if Lukas is a betting trainer, what a double!

As for Rosie, can't understand how she dropped back to last
thinking Oxbow would wilt.

It's like the TV game within a game- "Do you want to flip or flop or do you want to flipflop?" I flipped and should have flopped.

They were all covering Orb, keeping him in a pocket. Rosie did her part to keep him inside where he didn't want to be as long as possible, and then she moved. It's their job to put their horse in the best spot.
