Actually, now looking at the low-priced contenders I was putting out there in previous threads, it would be better off if they were used as keys in multi-race exotics. So from this point on I will just give key horses to single out. A sizeable Place bet only if playing just the one race would be my only personal suggestion. The rest (Doubles, Pick-3s/4s, Exactas, Trifectas, Supers,....) I will leave in the capable hands of you, the real handicapper....

So, favorites win about 33% of the time. I'm trying to pinpoint that 33% group into a high percentage group. It's a process, but I'll try to come as close as I can. I'm working on a spreadsheet now and see what works and what doesn't. But for now at least I have the backbone of my system and even though the prices are short it hit's better than 50%, so it's something.

Okay, I went back and looked at exactly what went wrong. I am keeping this journal out in the open so I don't cheat myself.

The Scat Patty pick pissed me off because a specific figure I used changed between Wednesday to Friday. That changes all my calculations and would have made her a non-qualifier. The other two losses I will accept. What I did not account for were adverse track conditions or conditions other than a dry dirt surface.
