"In what may be a racing first, Monmouth Park’s Opening Day program this Saturday will feature a Pick 5 carryover of $2,942.60. Typically, the final day of a race meet will force all pools to pay out; however, last fall’s Thoroughbred meet at the Big M saw the final week of racing cancelled due to super storm Sandy. With no final day to force the payout, the New Jersey Racing Commission ruled the carryover be moved to Monmouth’s season opener.
The Pick 5, which has a 50-cent base wager, will be offered on races 5 through 9 daily."
