Yet another reason why I prefer life in California.
Judging by the article, too, these insects are sexual predators - among themselves. ;)

I remember these things from the last one. :)
We also had cicada killer wasps(top right, next to regular sized bee, yellow jacket)

California / Southwest has a much worse infestation problem. In their case though, they don't leave to return every 17 years... maybe leave, and return next week w/ 17 others.

On a serious note, do forest fires and droughts concern you?

Absolutely.
The forest area around us is a tinder box for the summer and fall.
It's raining today, and we could use a load more.
In no time, though, we will be dry again.

It's fingers crossed, and hold your breath, every year.
We knew plenty of people who lost homes close to six years ago.
Fire is a constant threat around here.

Don't feel left out. Supposedly a new "superstrain" of gonorrhea has hit Hawaii and also surfaced in California.

"Americans who test positive for gonorrhea should now be treated with a shot, not just pills, the federal government said Thursday in a significant rewrite of the recommended treatment for the long-dreaded sexually transmitted disease."

sounds like like that would help Roche pharmaceuticals, makers of ceftriaxone injection (Rocephin).

chart looks like they may have already peaked however.
Would've been nice to have known this in July '12. Up almost 90 francs?

Maryland is getting hit with an epidemic of "stinkbugs". When you squash one the smell is unbearable. Another fine mess you've gotten us into Stanley !!

Up 2.6% in one day? Absolutely. Thanks for pointing it out. I bought it for a trade yesterday on the chart alone. And that other news doesn't hurt. Gotta love gonorrhea

pretty good lol.
Your charts are probably superseding anything STD news here. That first article from the Washington Times was posted on Thursday, August 9, 2012.
At that time it was 44, and now it's almost 64.

I don't know anything about the markets, or the charts. I may get into it one day, I don't know. Will probably never notice something like that if I do get started either. :D

Those big pharmaceutical companies are slick. This same company had to pay back $500 Million for price-fixing vitamins, and later monopolized the bird-flu vaccine(bird flu in the news also). They seem to have knack for monopolizing a market like they did with this antibiotic injection.
Lucky for them - that scientific study found things that were favorable to their situation, and called for the federal gov't to rewrite the treatment protocol. ;)

Big pharma in general has been red hot the past 6 months or so; Pfizer, Merck, Abbvie etc. Certainly hasn't hurt Roche.
