Picks for Debry day 2013. Playing $10 WP on my selections. The picks:

Race -1 The :1: . Hard to argue with what this filly has done so far. Winner of last with a 105 Bris figure which is by far this field's high last out number. Stall hits at 26% off the short layoff and she reunites with the hot riding Bridgmohan. 8-5 seems about right.

Race -2 The :2: . Drops back in with friends today for Kenneally. Short break after the G3 attempt last out and trainer hits at 21% off the layoff. Bullet work best of 50 Apr 20th for this and Apr 27th work may have been better. Expect big effort here.

Race -3 The :3: . Dropping in off the G2 effort at Oaklawn. Trainer McPeek takes the blinkers off today for a 29% move. Returns to the turf for a 15% dirt-to-turf trainer angle. The class of this group at 4-1 on the line.

Race -4 The :5: . 2nd career race for Margolis hitting at 26% with the move. Goes from AW-to-dirt for another 19% angle. Has some nice works over dirt surfaces for this & Bridgmohan up for the re-ride. 6-1 the price is right.

Race -5 The :8: . Kentucky Derby hopeful lands here for the West's and trainer Baffert. Shipping in from Fg for 30% shipping trainer. Huge class drop alone gets this one home today.

Race -6 The :8: . Trainer Jones 27% off the freshening. Winner when last seen at FG in March. Rosie up for the ride today a plus. Stalker on the outside should sit a great trip here.

Race -7 The :1: . Speed and the rail usually a good spot on Derby day when the track seems to tighten up a bit. 3rd time off the layoff for Kenneally hitting at 16% with the move. 33% Aw-to-dirt trainer returns this one CD where she won wire-to-wire at this tricky distance. 5-1 is good here.

Race -8 The :5: . Won for fun in what was really a public workout in last. Jumps into a Graded Stakes today for Shug hitting 24% 2nd off the shelf. Owns the highest Bris figure at the distance today with Castellano up.

Race -9 The :9: . Hard to argue with what this Maggi Moss-Amoss runner has done this year so far. A 114 Bris figure last out would smoke these. Trainer 26% off the short layoff. Gets a little class test today for solid connections.

Race -10 The :8: . A two horse race with the 9 in here. Won last without really taking a deep breath over the Keeneland weeds. Bullet work April 24th for this. LoPresti 37% after winning last.

Race -11 The Kentucky Derby. I've landed on the :8: here. Winner of a fast Santa Anita Derby last out. 3rd time off the layoff for defending champ O'Neil hitting at 19% with the move. Goldencents...for the win!! (3-5-6-8 for the super)

Race -12 The :2: . Turns back to a sprint for Romans today who hit at 21% with the move. Highest last out Bris figure to boot. Stalker should get a good trip in here. Repeat of last takes this.

Race -13 The :5: . Last race of the day and we're taking this one home at 5-1 on the line. Gets Lasix for the 1st time today and stretches out to a route off 2 sprints a 13% trainer move. Bejarano up for the ride.

Good Luck N Good Racing From The KidCapper!!

I also settled on the 8 horse in the Derby.
After that, I like Orb, the 16.
I'm playing some trifectas with those two in the first two slots.
Let's get that 8 home first!

wow! what a start.

that pace was really fast. I had the 3 to shw (thought she would be sharp off that keeneland race), but the pace was so fast that she was actually outrun early. Your :1: may have been the better horse. I was focused on my runner so I didn't see it all, but 3 may have benefited from the pace and the inside path. Glad Rosario kept working hard while outrun, it wasn't a lock by any means after 4furlongs. About as nice an allowance for fillies as you get. wow 108.75

edit - yea, your 1 was better. Closer to that pace and a path wider.

:1: River Rocks was heroic in his loss against-the-grain at Gulfstream. The Lexington was all wrong for this animal, and the real question is how well he came out of that polytrack race fitness wise. He looks a little bit on thin side on the track. The :1: might be the value in here, but I will chicken out and pass this race. The :8: could be any type. Good Luck with your :2:.

good race to oppose the 5-pizza man. name-horse who has been workman-like lately.
:6: SCREENPLAY was probably best on rockhard turf at Gulfstream. Then at Keeneland he relished the softer turf even with Prado aboard that day. Today upgrades to Joel and gets some moisture in the turf.

note the shoe repair on your horse Atigun. I like your 3, as well as the 1,4 and my 6. it's a tough race.

damn, I wish I had boxed my horses (going vs. Pizza Man). EASY long-term profitable play considering fan-money on Pizza Man. :bang:
Glad I passed wagering on the 6 however, who was bet down too much for my liking, he had a funky trip, but your :3: took it too them.

Good call on the 3.

Race -6 The :8: . Trainer Jones 27% off the freshening. Winner when last seen at FG in March. Rosie up for the ride today a plus. Stalker on the outside should sit a great trip here.

A little bit scared that Code West dropped out of the Derby, and that Baffert is cooling off lately. He did say the Belmont was a goal, and I did see the 4/22 breeze which was very solid and showed no obvious decline in form. If skipping the derby was simply a sensible class move, he is worth a short price.

I will have to watch Bellarmine :4: again, as I was high on Freedom Child.

i don't believe it i didn't get my bet in on the 8

I was going to throw 100 to show on the 8, but got shutout. Must have a 5-10second delay. He hit the board, but they bet him down so much after the last flash he may only pay 2.20. I don't want those prices anyway.

wow the 4 was a big price. :bang: maybe I should get my act together now? :bang:

I'm not good with turf sprints. I like the :4: Ghost is Clear. Maker is hot and I won with this one at FG. Also like your :8:. Good luck i'm just watching this one.

I like the :2: Rumor. She finally hit on all cylinders in the Los Flores. Big effort. Not sure if I will bet, but the price is really good - hopefully that is because her form is a little muddy on paper, and not a bad sign.

I like your :1: although she doesn't seem to want to finish the deal.

:5: is somewhat interesting as a longshot. got a perfect trip last time, but that also means she probably came out of the race in tremendous shape and she wheels back in 16 days with a chance to hit the board to liven tris or supers.

:7: Burban is a nice looking mare as well.

Maybe we will see your 1, the 7 or even the 6 upgraded by the sloppy track

Have a feeling :4: Handsome Mike will be the beneficiary of a great trip. Let's see if he can handle the off going.

If he doesn't I would think :2: Hierro & :5: Unbridled's Note will have a say in the outcome.
