Hello All! So, here is the first Saturday in May. The list of Slew's tracks and races follow:
Belmont - 3,5,6,7,8,9
Hollywood - 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10
Churchill - 2,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,11
Tampa - 1,2,4
Woodbine - 3,8,9
Pimlico - 4,9
Calder - 9,11,12
Arlington - 7,9,11,12

We now welcome back Arlington Park to our list of tracks.
For Derby day, we have three Key Horses running:
Screenplay - CD ( 3) GP 01/24/13 # 9
Channel Lady - CD ( 8) GP 01/05/13 # 10
Orb - CD (11) GP 02/23/13 # 11
For anyone who read my Derby 'strategy', you know that the mugging that took place at the start of the Oaks ended all chance.
These things happen, and you get used to them. It is part of the bargain you make with racing, and like a pitcher who watches
his best fastball travel 400 feet in the wrong direction...you have to take a deep breath...and throw the next pitch.
I remember when Sandy Koufax threw a wicked slider to Mickey Mantle during a world series game in 1963. Mickey's broken body only managed about 60
games that year. No matter. Even before the Mick made contact, Koufax's body language said he knew what was about to happen. And happen it did.
My best pitch has been the Key Horse, and Orb is clearly listed as one of them. Tomorrow I will put my money where my mouth is.
The good news? Koufax survived.
