In the 11th at Calder today I noticed that the #1 & #2 horses had the same owner and the same trainer. I called Mike (Racing Secretary) and he explained that this is allowed in Florida when the purse is $50K and up.

My first thought....this is a huge freaking advantage over a coupled entry when one of the entrants is DQ'd! For example, lets say, the #1 is a speed horse and happens to take 3 other horses wide in the turn setting it up for the #2. The #1 is DQ'd, the #2 wins the race and the #2 remains the winner. If the entry is coupled and one of them is DQ'd, are they both not DQ'd?

I ran a mud run earlier and have been drinking a few beers since so I may not be thinking correctly?
