Many thanks for posting this note about the 10K Northfield guaranteed pick 4. The pool was actually over $18,000. I invested $152 on a four ticket play with "A"s and "B"s. Had the $48 trot winner in leg 2 as a "B". Needed to hit with "A"s in the other 3 races. Was feeling mighty good when they knocked my 5 down to 1/9 en route to an eventual $3.00 score, keying an insanely generous Pick 4 that I will cash tomorrow for $5,427.30. The two guys sitting next to me at Favorites in Woodbridge told me it would probably pay around $600. I'm glad they were a bit off. :jump:

I retired early and didn't see the races.

I had a feeling that the way to play it should be to go against one or two of the heavy favorites. (The faves in those legs were 1.30-0.50-0.70-0.50) but even so, that payoff was a whopper.

I picked Merriman to be the upsetter and he never made it to Ohio, got J Thompson instead. :p
