I have noticed that this low profile trainer has put over quite a few double digit horses at the current Aqu. meet. I am wondering if any one knows what the r.o.i is on a flat bet on all his horses at the present meet?

139 starts, 11 wins avg mutual 19.50

so you bet 278 to get back 214.50

Thanks for the Info., any ideas on when to bet him? I would guess a profit on all over 5/1.

Comes down to what type of handicapper you are and what you look for..personally, I never bet on trainers like him.

I do not care what the trainers doing.

I do not care what the jockeys doing.

I only care what the horse is doing and how the horse likes to win.

Since Jan 1, 2011 at Bel, Sar or AQU:
- throw out all horses over 25 days ( 0/135)
- no lasix or first time lasix ( 0/73)
- most of his wins are on the AQU inner dirt ( 25 wins, 14 wins on all other dirt or turf surfaces )
- mothball angles:
horse going down by exactly 7 pounds: 7 wins in 51 races
horse carrying jockey at 116 pounds: 11 wins in 86 races
AQU inner dirt back in exactly 6 days: 6 wins in 31 races

I'm willing to bet that Jamie Ness has put a few over on you then.

He's like a few others that make most of their $$ at Aqueduct in the winter. He doesn't know how to place a horse in the right spot, and he tends to run mediocre stock way too often.

with Randi Persaud you get good prices!!! Trainers who run thier stock where they belong r.o.i. is not profitable.

Good prices ,yes. But have fun trying to figure out WHEN to bet his horses since he has a measly 4% win rate. He wins most of his races on 6f inner track at AQU.

His overall stats for 2010-2013 are

Total---- Win---- Place---- Show---- Win%---- Place%---- Show%
984----- 48------- 85------- 105------ 4%------- 13%------- 24%

Avg. Final Position: 5
Avg. Payouts: $24.29 $9.12 $5.64

I like the avg. payouts. Persaud hit again today with a 32/1 shot!!!

Persaud cold at Belmont?

Seems to have had a drop off recently. Lots of his horses are being eased in the lane. Something to monitor.

I think he is strictly Aqu inner track.

I think he is strictly Aqu inner track.

I think it has to do with him running every horse in his barn every 3 days, he has some in the barn who have raced 10 or 15 times this year already, they just hit the wall, most of them, out of his last 20 or 30 starters, half of them have basically been eased.

But, he's filling races and creating betting interests, so, tracks look the other way at this borderline abuse.

Whenever you start 'tossing' horses because the trainer OR rider is slumping, there's one thing nearly guaranteed.

They will, at some point , beat you.

Unless, they never win again.

Unless, you detect enough improvement in the runners to stop tossing before they win. That's usually kind of hard to do.

The kid, Thomas, finally got one home in the 9th , but it was a long , painful, road if you have been betting him to win.

I didnt toss him totally because of the trainer, but i had her far down on my list of most likely winners, so there just wasnt room for her in my packet. If i would have known she was going to get a fantastic ride and trip i would have reconsidered, but the race just fell in her lap, the 2nd place finisher was probably better but was just out of position.

It's that time of year. One would think he's coming back with some bombs here and there.

with the horse shortage and cold, he runs horses every oscar day, i mean every 3 days. He's bound to catch a citifield, ha ha, I mean a shi tee field at a big price at the Big A

I actually bet Persaud's Guyana Cat today @ AQ. Persaud has started this MD 11 times this year--just noticed though, all the starts are in the last 4 months. 'Cat showed a couple angles I look for---in hindsight, since I don't know NY trainers--I should have looked closer.

I do not care what the trainers doing.

I do not care what the jockeys doing.

I only care what the horse is doing and how the horse likes to win.

There are such things as hot and cold trainers. I always look at the last 20 starts of a trainer.

If there are no wins.....

I lose my fervor for that horse quite fast.

70/893 at AQU 8% at AQU.

and 57/1238 elsewhere 5% rounded up.

Yeah, he's on a bit of a hot streak 5/52 :D

Like most small trainers in NY, they're allowed to eat enough in the winter so they can keep filling fields throughout the rest of the year.

When the big boys come back, they go back to starving.

When the big boys come back, they go back to starving. That is the way it was for me when i was in NY. Aqueduct fall through spring would make @ 600k in purses. Rest of the year just nibbling at purses lucky to make 100k in 6 months.
