I have a Weider Ultra Max, which is a copy of a Bowflex. It's excellent, made of heavy steel and was half the price of Bowflex. Weider built quite a bodybuilding empire.

When I was a kid growing up Joe Weider and Charles Atlas were always advertising on the comics that I read.
Atlas promised that people would no longer kick sand in my face.
Weider promised me a body that girls would die for.

Alas, I never bought their stuff, girls never died for me, and I'd still run the risk of having sand kicked in my face if I went to the beach.

I never understood how they could have Mr. Olympia contests in which Weider was training all the main contestants.
