Forgot I fell in love with Delta last week - this bunch of breed non-twos looks like my type of slowpoke clunkers - need to see if my Delta prowess was limited to three races on one night...

I just noticed Delta a week ago and now it's over already... well...

Neat way to end the meet going from a 550 yard dash to a mile and a half plus a little more marathon.

Usually when a track runs one of these gimmicky marathon races for cheap horses, you can find some sort of clue trying to guess which can possibly get the distance... this field is about a guessing game as near as I can tell. I guess what makes this kind of an interesting race to bet on is that they are betting the hell out of the :1: I guess mainly because of solid recent form and good connections. But really, he is one for the last year, four for fifty something lifetime, and he's not exactly bred to run all day.

The :2: on the other hand actually has some back class - 13 for 54, almost $200k banked, and most importantly - he should be right on or near the pace. This whole field looks like closing milers.

I can at least see a mile and a half race on the form of the :4: , even if it was on the turf. He's 7-1, the two is 6-1 - I think I want those two on top of some gimmicks here to close out the meet in style.

I guess the guy on the deuce thought a :26 and change was just asking way too much and had to arm wrestle this one off the pace when he sensed they may go 1:30 for three-quarters if he let it out a notch... I figgered he who made the lead would be nearly impoooosible to catch, just figgered on the wrong guy letting his horse run to the lead...

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed the seven races I watched from Delta this season - especially these last couple. :D
