View Full Version : Another CharlesTown suspension

The whole thing is related to the banning of Cheater, I mean, Scooter Davis. He is leading trainer at Mountaineer, where apparently anything goes.

He hasn't had a hearing yet so until he is proven guilty he is presumed innocent.

I'm sure there is something going on but like the Jane Cibelli bs that was on here lets wait until Mountaineer has their hearing.

Well, he has been caught and suspended about 728 other times, so color me skeptical.

Its important that Mountaineer take their time with this, you know, lives are at stake here! The bettors who are betting on races where this trainer is currently participating will JUST HAVE TO WAIT.....kind of like a restaurant receiving a phone call that the recent food shipment they got might have salmonella, but they keep serving it anyway while they investigate to make sure everything checks out!

Roger Clemens had a hearing!! Come on! No way you win at this game if you can't see or detect a problem.

I've watched Mountaineer and the racing there is no more 'suspicious' than anywhere else. Maybe less so.

Scooter hasn't popped one of his incredible 20 length move ups yet?

That only applies to courts. We can presume whatever we want, In reality, how often are people wrong when they call out this kind of trainer? We are handicappers, not jurors.
More importantly, we are potential customers and we can chose to not spend out money at tracks that fail to take out the trash.

I like the restaurant analogy. But I'm not going to speculate like all the gurus did when they said Cibelli was getting canned, she didn't. Scooter will get his just due. As far as not betting at Mtnr because he is there that is a choice all of you have.

What percent of the races being run at Mtnr involve scooter? Just don't bet them.

Its probably better to not bet Mountaineer at all.....if a bettor is concerned about integrity issues, it might go deeper at this place than just Scooter.

Mnr was one of the first to get slot money. I saw 5k claimers racing for around 20k purses. Interestingly, in the beginning, when they had this kind of money being thrown around, you hardly ever saw anybody move there, not trainers, not jockeys. Never really knew what that meant but it certainly made me ponder.

Lots of trainers and horses headed to Thistledown next month with the inflated purses due to the slot monies.
"Horse trainers are also upbeat, fueling the heaviest demand for stall rental that the track has seen in years", said Rick Skinner, Thistledown's general manager.

Looks like they found a new trainer. Terry Cowan who has had 9 starts and 1 win is who the Shanyfelt horses are now under. First entries are Tuesday.
