An 11-1 wins, a 12-1 places, a 26-1 shows and 16-1 for fourth place. Isn't it very weird that the exacta pays just $12.30 for $1, the tri paid $55.60 for $1 and the super paid just $30.82 for a dime? Then I noticed that 9 of the 10 horses had more to show than place. The one that had less was #8, the winner. Here are the payoffs and pools to save you time looking them up. I noticed a few other races there had higher show pools than place pools. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with quarterhorse racing and/or Remington and if this seems fishy or is it the norm there?

8 Sooner Country Babe $24.20 $4.00 $5.80
4 Bbs First Blue $4.40 $5.80
7 Opening Shot $15.00
9 Salty Greygoose

$1.00 EXACTA 8-4 $12.30
$1.00 TRIFECTA 8-4-7 $55.60
$0.10 SUPERFECTA 8-4-7-9 $30.82

Pool totals

1 $1,905 $147 $431
2 $1,777 $188 $3763
3 $1,822 $160 $368
4 $823 $332 $3345
5 $1,894 $210 $456
6$1,748 $88 $387
7 $413 $73 $104
8 $922 $390 $327
9 $642 $170 $21810
10 $1,695 $90 $331

Win Place Show
$13,641 $1,848 $3,332

The significant question is what were the exotic pool sizes. To me it just looks like someone bet significant amounts on the winning ex. tri. and super, without betting win. It probably wouldn't take too much to knock down the prices in those pools.

Amazing that the $2 ex paid $24.60 and $2 win paid $24.20

That is odd

Probably a better question was this. Did the winner look like a 5-2 shot on paper and somehow, due to the small pools, paid way more to win than her actual chances?

If she was a legit 11-1 shot, than we might have some sort of situation that needs to be investigated.

Funny how all these low payoffs do get investigated and they always seem to come back with 'its all legit, the person bet before the race started".

Than, they tell you to keep moving as there's nothing to see.

If this exotic wagering was done before the bell...then I was born yesterday.

Big article on the front page of the Oklahoman today about Remington horses being injected with frog juice. Makes you wonder...

Oh, Cmon, you know it was legit! :D Its always legit, we have iron clad betting pools in the USA that are tougher to crack than Fort Knox or Scotland Yard. Hackers try and hack NASA and the US Govt before they ever consider hacking horse racing, horse racing too tough, nobody can skim off this game, id bet my LIFE that every race at every track in the USA is always on the up and up, nobody bets after the start anywhere, NOBODY!! :D

I would chalk this up to the inefficiencies of their small pools, not sinister forces, not even the Beulah stewards  The last Pick Three Races 7-8-9 paid 1 of 3 with a pool of $190. The winner of the 8th Race paid :5: $10.60 $20.60 $4.60 across.

Tell you what, bet all the 'low' payoffs you see before the bell (any track you like), and let me know how you do. 90%+ of these will show up in time to bet.

The govt food stamp program is very generous, so don't sweat it.

And yet they distributed about $150,000 in purses today...

the first 3 horses were the ML 3 favorites.

Someone dumped money to win on non-contenders to 'score' at off-shore / illegal racebooks, where the money does not hit the pool.

They used to do that stateside in dog racing...Ariz./Nev....bet the worst dogs in Zona...and the best dogs in Nev....Casino's at the time WERE NOT involved w/actual pools...they LEARNED FAST...

I know very little about what the offshore guys do with their bets. Anyone have insight into how they layoff the unwanted/unbalanced action?

Are the Remington Quarter Horse races popular with the off-shore betting sites?

You try that offshore and you won't last very long as a customer, and you might not get paid either, not to mention there are limits on how much you can bet.

Thats why it pays to stick to the larger tracks. Personally, i don't bet anything but the major tracks. Thats about 1/10 the normal pools, give or take....granny plays her lucky numbers, one guy pounds the number or they were logical morning line horses and i don't care if one is 60-1....theres only so many ways you can divide EXACTA 7884, TRI 4607 and SUPER 4903. For the super to pay what it should....there can only be one winning ticket and even that is short, with this crummy pool.....i don't see how you can play anything but win, at least you know what your getting if you win. People cry foul, but with these numbers you will get screwed all the time, they can't print more money just because the odds were high in the WPS pool. Whats there is there, and if others have the exotic numbers, it does not take many winning tickets to make the payout suck. Sample size is everything in the pari mutuels....more times than not you will get shorted playing these tracks and these bets. If you play all the time.....good luck playing these bets.

Good points, but, can all THREE pools be light? Did granny get lucky with the tri AND the super?

What do you expect to get when the results are ML fav over 2nd ML fav over 3rd ML fav?

You expect that 'hot favorite' to pay 6 bucks to win.
