Good card this evening!

R1: 2,4,6......Onlytheyankeeknows-4/1 ML......Drops in for the short claim. Roberts comes back aboard. Was impressive two back before getting DQed. Draws a good post. Should be up early on the lead or stalking just off the pace.

R2: 2,6,3......Dry Creek Fling-3/1 ML......Bad break last time out. Tossing last on the slop. Draws a great post position. Will be flying home late. Should see the wire easily.

R3: 9,4,10......Full Service-5/1 ML......Ships back over from Lexington. 1st time lasix will prove beneficial for this young filly. Has display early sped in the past and may get over quickly again, but wouldn't be surprised with a late charge.

R4: 6,10,8......Mortal Combat-6/1 ML......Driver change to Moyer is a positive here. Didn't show much last time out, but did show some nice closing speed in the slop two back. Look for a 3Q move.Mr. Trifecta's Pick of the Night!

R5: 8,2,4......Celebrity Hercules-5/2 ML......Won 3 straight at this level. Driver change to De Long due to Miller out east. Shouldn't matter as this horse is a monster from the outside and can close well. Mr. Trifecta's Lock of the Night!

R6: 5,8,6......Yermanos-3/1 ML......Driver change to Leonard is a positive. Draws to the outside. Should be up on the front early. Should get some potential cover from the 4. Needs to have enough in the tank to pull away down the stretch.

R7: 2,4,6......Richerthanrayno-6/1 ML......Draws to the inside here. Has won at this level multiple times. Finally gets a closer post. Wide open race and will need this mare to be on her game. Pick-4: 2,4,5,6 w 2,7 w 2,4 w 2,9 - $32

R8: 2,7,10......Suddenly Single-5/1 ML......First time starter here with a pair of qualifiers. Over the fast track, closed very well and should be able to do that here against a weak field. Widger aboard.

R9: 2,4,7......KK's Bandit-6/1 ML......Draws a nice post here. Cashed last two at this level. Should get a nice stalking trip against slightly easier company.

R10: 9,2,8......Stonebridge Symbol-12/1 ML......First off the layoff was a nice primer. Draws to the outside. Will need to use that late kick to get in the fight. Worth the price of admission. Mr. Trifecta's Longshot of the Night!

Just picking your brain. Always trying to learn something new.

Do you look at the start two back with a good closing kick of 29.1 because of the slop or in spite of? The last start was finished in a slightly better 28.4. The way I see it, 2 back was a rail ride all the way and should have had a lot left to pass a bunch in the stretch, and did. The slop was an aid there where it may have helped tire some of the front enders (granted I didn't see the replay). I look at the last start as a better close because he got into the outer flow and then finished with that 28.4.

On the slop, was a solid first time effort off the long layoff. The closing kick was on par for what this colt can do and Miller aboard certainly improved the chances. Colt seems to take to the slop as noted last year at The Red Mile. None the less, the driver change to Seekman last time out was poor as Seekman hasn't won anything this year at Balmoral though doesn't race too often here (Miller was most likely over at BigM as he has been lately). Moyer is an improvement.

Two back, fractions were pretty fast two back considering the slop and what he is used to. He started up around the 2q-3q 4th back behind 2nd over. Made an attack at the stretch, swung 3w with cover, pulled cover and just didn't catch the leaders. The 3w bid costed him that ground.
