Picking out horses from your contenders....Thats what i have been
trying to say to red, all this time....You can have 4 or 5 contenders in
each race and win all 8 races, but you did not really win all 8 races..
You still have to have a very very good system to pick out 1 or 2 of
thoses contenders in each race, and win with it....Other wise...
Putting 4 horses in each race, and say I WON I Won....Won What?
any great program can win with 85-90% with the 4 contenders....
Its what you do next, to pick out your choices from your contenders
that counts the most......And Red does not do that....I can do the same
thing as red....My program is hitting at 90 percent with 4 horses...
But thats not the point...The point is picking out 2 of the 4 choices
and thats it for each race....

One option....Look at the likely pace scenario and use the contenders that best fit in the top spot. I do this with exactas. It works well in large fields where I have 6 contenders (Chaos). I end up with a ticket like this: 1 2 3 with 1 2 3 4 5 6. Holding out for the races where 1 2 3 are not the favorite is the key IMO.

Good Luck

Really?
You have any data to prove your case? Can you name some of these great programs?
