R.I.P.

Saw him live once with his own band at My Father's Place, Roslyn NY ca. 1984/85. And of course loved watching that performance from the Woodstock movie.

Loved his music as well as Ten Years After. Rip Alvin.
Cricklewood Green was an amazing album.
Many regard him as the best guitarist to ever grace the planet.

I saw Alvin and 10 years after at Cobo Hall back in the 80's.

It was on his birthday and the band continued to play 4 encores even though they had turned on the lights trying to get the crowd to leave!

It was an awesome show.

Maybe Alvin can do some jamming with DIO now?

RIP monster axeman.

His set at Woodstock, IMO, is one of the greatest live performances of all time, if not the greatest, considering the magnitude of the show.

Simply, an electrifying performer.
