The first race at Santa Anita today was a claiming race - but the #6 ( and winner ) was listed has not having a claiming price.
When is a "claiming" race not a claiming race?

If you're off a long layoff and fit certain criteria, they permit you to run in a claiming race but not be claimed. Next time that horse runs, he has to be offered up for a price.
