40 years ago today the Beatles first came to The USA
So I have been listening to non stop Beatles songs on the
classic rock station Q 104.3 here in Metro NY area

I was wondering what are the top 5 Beatles songs for the PA
members?. Kind of get a feeling for the horse race crowd's taste in music

My top 5 are

1 Something
2 She Loves You
3 And Your Bird Can Sing
4 Hey Jude*
5 Penny Lane

* As a kid I liked the la la la , Paul screaming part
As an over 30 man I liked the first part of the song more
Now that IM older and seen life more, and I know what the first part of the song is about.
I like the la la la part again Paul is screaming with emotion and singing from his heart.

I would like to know anyones top 5 Beatles songs

Thanks Bind

Hi Jim

Me too George Harrison was my favorite too
That's why I made Something' # 1
I saw Paul at the Continental Arena
last summer. He played SOMETHING on a ukulele
that George had just given him before he passed
away. Paul played the song alone. With just the ukulele
and he had a video of George playing on the backdrop
There were not too many dry eyes after that

Take care

The British Invasion bands were an incredible time in music. I am too young to have experienced it at the time, but became a huge fan later of The Beatles, The Who, and The Kinks. There will never be another time where music was so important in my opinion.
The Beatles were the most widely accepted. They had incredible songwriting, were the good-looking band who caused all the girls to go wild and spurred the invasion........The Who were the original punk rock band who brought in the attitude that spoke for the young men who didn't quite relate to the "cute pop style" of The Beatles. The Rolling Stones were the nasty guys, the ones who fathers did not want their daughters to meet ! The Kinks were the quirky "really British" band who never lost their roots. All four bands were so important to the British Invasion.

Top 5 Beatles songs:

1. A Day in the Life
2. I Want to Hold Your Hand
3. Fool on the Hill
4. Taxman
5. Let It Be
