Last night at Balmoral on a cold mid-week card, there was $98,216 bet into the pic4 pool. The $1 pic4 and 50c pic5 at a reducded takeout are getting attention. Maybe they could bring back the old "BigE" bet. That's you have to hit two exacta's in a row. Not two races in a row but two of the carded "BigE" races, Say R5 and R8. In order to even be able to play R8 you of course would need to have hit the first exacta in R5. Say for a 50c min bet at 14% takeout. The BigE was a popular bet "back in the day" at Liberty Bell and Brandywine. Some big players would walk around the grandstand and let it be known they would buy your winning first exacta so they have more tickets at the big price 2nd half. Hey Pandy do you remember "Delaware Babe"? Use to tie up the $100 window and $10 exacta min window back in the day of cardboard tickets.
