It is not the quantity so much as it is the content.
FWIW....IMHO, NO executive orders should be allowed, except for emergencies, and then only temporary with no renewal allowed.
We have a congress to pass legislation.

Anyone know who issued the very first EO?
Would be interesting to research, but I am having a good day at the races, so it will have to wait! ;)

Just another tea party splinter group trying to raise money. If you feel like giving money to that cause, there are plenty of real pro gun groups to give to like the NRA.

I don't think these executive orders should be allowed either but you reach a point where something is better than nothing so I suppose BO did what he thought he had to. But I still believe that guns laws will not sovle this problem.

I don't think presidents should be allowed to pardon people, issue executive orders and my list goes on.

That is why I am against it.

I prefer a small government that doesn't get in my way. That means "limited powers", actually, VERY limited powers, but I am forced to take what I can get.

Whether anyone approves of it or not, this is OUR government AT ITS BEST! How many countries do you know of where the people can get together and get away voicing their opinions, some crudly, and not fear getting shot for expressing themselves.

Your point?

Reagan 3.96 per month
Bush I 3.45 per month
Clinton 3.79 per month
Bush II 3.03 per month
Obama 2.94 per month

Probably won't find this on the Chimera Fall of man website.

Still? Your point?

I would assume when all is said and done Obama will fit right in with the others... Bush II being so low is actually quite surprising if you think about it.

You forget for 24 of those months Obama had a friendlier legislature than any of the others mentioned.

Point being, Obama is as you mentioned right in line with recent presidents in using the executive action/order/directive. The website 23Feb2013 implies otherwise in an almost humorous "push the patriots buttons" call to arms.

Seems about equal regardless of legislative composition.

2009 - E.O. 13489 - E.O. 13527 (39 Executive orders issued)
2010 - E.O. 13528 - E.O. 13562 (35 Executive orders issued)
2011 - E.O. 13563 - E.O. 13596 (34 Executive orders issued)
2012 - E.O. 13597 - E.O. 13632 (36 Executive orders issued)

I don't think these executive orders should be allowed either but you reach a point where something is better than nothing...The Constitution requires the President to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." This is the source of the power of executive order.

I don't think presidents should be allowed to pardon people...The Constitution specifically gives the President power to pardon people, but only in Federal cases.

We have a congress to pass legislation. The Supreme Court has ruled that executive orders that "make law" are unconstitutional. (Youngstown Sheet and Tube v. Sawyer (1952)) Obama is a lawyer and has lawyers on his team so it's a pretty safe bet that none of his EOs "make law."

If it smells like a law, if it stifles like a law, if it takes away freedom like a law, it is, effectively a law.

The president should go to the KKKourt if he feels the laws are not being faithfully executed.....much like his ridiculous EO giving amnesty to millions of illegals.

He can take those EO and stick them were the fence don't go.

The problem is Obama has legislated via EO. A couple of these EO's regarding gun control are infringing on the 2nd Amendment and HIPA without a legislative basis for doing so. The others merely enforce laws currently on the books which I, along with most gun owners including the NRA, are completely fine with.

Another one that comes immediately to mind is the "stay" on deportations of illegals only 5 months before a national election.
