Chris Van Coolio, one of the nicest guys on any racetrack, just sent a message telling me how great Tazwell has been training since the last race. Not sure I'd rank that info up there with insight from Charlie Wittingham, but since you liked him a bit in this tough spot, figured it was worth a mention. I'll be rooting for him.

How overbet is Animal Kingdom ??

AK is probably best but this is 9f and :2::3::4: are all good enough to make him fire. What if he has to beat 2 contenders ?

Should be Even Money and he's 1/5.

no value anyway, the odds evened out late in the game

I'm inclined to think the horse got his entire education in the afternoon. It wasn't Chris' fault - he was a three horse operation with one old crippled mare and two babies that knew nothing. One was a trashy going thing and he got the gas from jocks, gallop boys, and yep, even agents that felt bad doing it but knew their cranky old jocks wanted nothing to do with babies that barely knew their way around the track. Had a jock that got roped into getting on them without knowing any better tell me to stay away from this one and that one, but that he had one that could really run a bunch and just didn't have any idea what he was doing. Had the kid been able to get the respect that a larger barn would get, that colt would have dominated in his debut. He's obviously a little ambitious, but I'm glad to see that he's having his day with the big boys at Gulfstream after getting the shaft from the hillbillies at ARP.
