Yesterday's last race at SA:

1 Rebelution Flores Eswan 121 50.00 20.60 11.00
2 Flaxen Maiden Gutierrez Mario 121 9.20 5.40
3 Warren's Cracker Garcia Martin 121 5.60

Wager Type Payoff Winning Numbers Pool
$1 Pick 3 $261.50 8-2-1 (3 Correct) $118,223
Pick 4 $744.65 6-8-2/4-1 (4 Correct) $365,001
$2 Pick 6 $784.00 5-4-6-8-2/4-1 (5 Correct) N/A
$2 Pick 6 $102,464.40 5-4-6-8-2/4-1 (6 Correct) $191,823
$2 Daily Double $26.40 2-1 $88,618

$26.40 DD/$50.00 win price. I've seen some doubles come back less than the win, but nearly a factor of 2? Guess Mulhall's people didn't bother to cover the win after pounding the DD.

I'm not sure thats a factor Mulhall's people betting as it is Game on Dude at 1/9 the race before.
The double from race 6 to race 7 paid $20 and the Race 6 winner paid 28 to win himself.
Game on Dude just took too much money in the pools

the guy that bet that has pigeon brains. i know why he did it that way, but he over bet the pool. for So. California racing the win rebate is only 4 1/2% while the double rebate is 11 1/2%. the guy was going for the higher rebate but in the process he over bet the pool. he could have bet GAME ON DUDE for whatever his heard desired, the horse was never going to pay more than the minimum $2.10 and he would have got the win rebate on that race and get the win rebate on the other. the guy was way to greedy, how often do you think you can come up with a hundred dollar horse that lays over the field?

It would be more 'telling' if someone could list (after the fact of course) the DD probables for ALL HORSES that participated in the last race Sunday!

The strategy works better in reverse, especially at smaller tracks. It is relatively easy to create a false favorite close to post time by betting in the win pool. The exacta bettors panic and enrichen the exacta pools with last minute bets on the false favorite (OMG! Somebody KNOWS something!)

It is a simple strategy that greyhound bettors have used for years. At least since Vinnie Teresa mentioned the ploy in his book, probably before.

So, the "divide by" system nailed a 24/1 winner and a big exacta.

W/P M/L W/P DIVIDED BY M/L

26 12 2.17
19 8 2.37
27 8 3.37
4 8/5 2.50
23 6 3.83
13 4 3.25
27 8 3.37
25 6 4.17
56 10 5.60

Divide and conquer, fellas!
