when ever I down load a document and I try to "clean it up" I always end up with some other word spacing that I can't get rid of.

I correct the spelling and grammer, make the text the same as the document I am putting together and then I try to use the block style or justified for the paragraph.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

thanks

If you use Justify then the software spaces each line so it's "even" between the left and right margins. Your text has 'end-of-line' characters in it that confuse Word as to where you actually want the right margin to be so you get the effect that you are seeing now.
Here is a primer on getting rid of those breaks --> http://www.avirtualexit.com/2011/04/word-remove-line-breaks-word-2010-2007/

For all Microsoft software's support.

The MS MVP's websites (http://mvps.org/index.html) offer superb support.
Even for older versions of many operating systems and softwares.
