Flashback
Den's Legacy
He's Had Enough

1.Flashback three solid works after conquering maidens gets tested against more accomplished runners. Fastest speed figure in field.

2.Den's Legacy Probable favorite with several good races in graded stakes but only two wins in nine starts.

3.He's Had Enough Big effort in BCJuv but little else.

There is zero chance Den's Legacy will be the betting favorite. Flashback will be even money or less.

Flashback

1 race at 7 furlongs.
Never raced on dirt.
56 day's since last start.
-----------------------------

Den's Legacy

Raced competitively VS three of the more well regarded sophomores in training.
Goldencents
Violence
Power Broker

Route experience.
----------------------------

He's Had enough

Solid 2nd in the BCJuv
----------------------------

I know there is some buzz about Flashback because of Baffert and the quick works what's not to like but even money or less, I don't see it from the PP's.

the new points system may have something to do with this turnout, although we've had short fields in the past.

looks like these 3. Will probably need to pick the winner and have it not be overbet by the public just to make a good bet.

but hey, there's only 3 to choose from.

I like He's Had Enough's pattern. In the Cash Call he was a huge underlay because people liked his Juvenile placing. In the race itself he lost a ton of ground buried on the rail, was in a hopeless situation spotting the contenders 7-10 lengths approaching the top of the stretch and then was knocked completely off stride while showing a response entering the stretch. O'Neill has a horse with some ability and he's good with these 1-2month breaks with developing 3yos. Strong 6f work 1/25. The blinkers on thing looks like an error by bris(he already had blinkers). I like him to beat Den's Legacy.

Will have to study Flashback.

.Flashback was 15/1 at Caesar's Palace when I was there a few weeks ago and I do not specifically remember Den's Legacy on the sheet, but I doubt he was around those odds.

I suppose I could be wrong, but my feeling is that Flashback will be the heavy favorite on Saturday. I am fairly confident about this. Den's Legacy will hover around 4/1 or so.

If by some chance Flashback is not the favorite, I will certainly bet him.

Thank God for Tampa Bay.
Maybe they should consider 4 days of racing a month.

Turns out you might be right, 3/5 on the morning line according to HRTV. I picked him first regardless of odds but if I was betting, 3 or 4 look competitive considering the 2 has yet to run 1 1/16th and is unproven on dirt.

I didn't see Flashback at 1-2, but he sure won like it. I was very tempted to take Den's Legacy at the relative prices. The race actually came back a Beyer 92 vs. his first start of 93. If that's accurate it looks more like Den's Legacy didn't fire his "A" race than the winner was a legitimate 1-2 shot that ran huge.

The pace was very slow. I would think that affected the final time and therefore the Beyer.

Then again, with all these "projected figures" who knows? :)

It was slow-ish, but I wouldn't say very slow to the point it had a big effect on final time. JMO of course...

Could be. I guess we'll have to see at least one more race.

Sometimes you have to trust your eyes.

Den's Legacy's A race is about what he ran. He cleans up the leftovers after horses like Flashback (and even Goldencents) eat.

In the Sham he ran a belated 2nd, and in the Robert B. Lewis he sucked up to beat He's Had Another(wide, contested winner) by a half a length.

Tiz The Truth was very impressive as well for Baffert.

He did fall apart a little, in deep stretch. I don't want to blame Hall of Famer Gary Stevens, but maybe he was guilty of tapping the breaks a little bit.

Tiz The Truth did not display that in the previous race, where he was 2nd best to John Sadler trained Demonic (Bernardini).

Tiz The Truth switched leads when he came upon the tracks left by the starting gate after it was removed. No problem at all as Tiz The Truth was striding out strongly through the stretch.

I agree that Den's Legacy doesn't have much of an "A" race, but I suspect he didn't do his best to get beaten that badly given the time wasn't especially fast either.

Tiz The Truth was easily the more impressive of the Baffert pair on this day. Gary was on cruise control all the way around the track.
