There is an article in N.Y. Daily News about NYRA not being allowed to give out "free" passes to the Clubhouse. The last sentence states "Currently at AQU Grandstand admission is FREE. Is that a fact

It's been free at Aqueduct during the winter for a few years now..

Live and Learn. Seemed odd to me, being that NYRA is strapped for money and AQU sitting in the middle of 8 million people. I have often wondered why management doesn't learn, when you give something free, they will come. At CRC/GP when they offer FREE the attendance doubles and more.

Seeing as I live in NY and don't go to Aqueduct more than once a year, the free admission has done little to get me to go. Its only free up til March 7 (end of the inner track meet) btw. Its just nasty cold out that way. I usually just go to one of the OTB restaurants near where I live. Its comfortable, closer to home, and you get to know the people that come every saturday. I may sneak off work the end of this month if the weather is better, but otherwise its no real insentive to go.
